The 'empty husks' left behind by Nephilim, Demons and Shades are all basically the same. That is to say, they're still alive in the physical sense, their hearts still beating and lungs still taking in breath. Granted, if a player wanted to say that the feeding led to instant death, they could always say that the shock or force of the feeding was so intense, it caused the victim's body to cave under the pressure. This does complicate kill-sharing though, as it would mean energy feeders can no longer take their share.
