Unfortunately, as you've guessed, she won't learn a lot from the scientists, themselves. But before she's locked out, she'll learn that everything they're working with is very tenuous, at best. Though the scientists have been able to temporarily displace the Fog, they haven't been able to contain it for very long without major problems. Therefore, they haven't been using it for power--nor have they been really interested in doing so (yet). It's a little like dealing with radioactive material when you don't know what radiation is or how to deal with it.
If Moira takes canisters full of Fog to the Cube and release it...well, something might happen! That depends on whether or not you'd be interested in buying into a few things we have in mind for the future. We can't be more specific than this right now, but let us know if you want to help kick off a later plot with this, and we'll be able to explain more privately.
