So I know that functional cellphones are out, but in my endless idle googling, I learned that pagers were first used in the 1950s and 60s, with use in hospitals and factory environments as early as 1956, before they eventually gained widespread popularity among the general populace in the 80s.
Would it be plausible that Ryslig has some of these earlier versions of pagers that operate and broadcast via radio, rather than something more modern? I imagine the level of communication possible would be limited in its scope but would be a more portable and convenient alternative to lugging around laptops for those who might (as well as potentially being free from Elias' influence?)
