The 38-8 living complex

Located somewhere in midtown Bavan, the 38-8 Living Complex is a large, horizontally oriented complex of apartments and businesses that stretches between the Hook and Ladder 8 and Lucky 38. The building contains eighty well-furnished apartments in a mix of studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom units. There is an on-site event hall and laundry rooms, as well as a courtyard. The complex is free to live in and open to all new arrivals or wayward monsters seeking a safe and sturdy place to live. The apartment building exchanged hands several times and is currently maintained by an NPC known as Mr. Oskar. Lucky you!

On the Lucky 38 end, there is also a New-York Style Pizza restaurant serving large, classic pizza pies. On the Hook and Ladder 8 end, there is a book press business specializing in printing copies of the two editions of Spengler's Monster Guide--a tome of collected information (currently known) about the monsters that populate the peninsula.

AMUSEMENT MILE

Amusement Mile sits on the North Coast, looking out towards Tunn, the result of Dick Grayson asking Mana to help him bring a little fun to the peninsula. The three mile strip of land boasts not only a theme park, but several other massive venues, and is the home of Phil Connors' Good Weather with Phil Connors, the 'best' weather based radio show going.

At night, the entire boardwalk is brightly lit with streams of lights, illuminating the whole boardwalk brightly, and the clubs and bars open. Perhaps you'd like to party at Club Zeus, or perhaps Batburger's more your scene.

In the old Gotham Hotel, the building most notable for being covered in enormous plants, the offices for the mile can be found, and on the upper floors are the apartments for those who work on the Mile.

'ARC-T' APARTMENTS

What was formerly a typical, semi-historic tenement apartment structure flanked by others like it and standing an 'impressive' (for the time of construction) 6 storeys tall, the former residents of the uppermost flat felt the space too cramped, and requested it be expanded by Mana's predecessor Tikbalang.

As a result, the windowed ends of the uppermost floor have stretched out over the street and back alley, causing the entire thing to resemble a capital 'T'. While most of the floors have been taken apart for renovation, the bottom two have been partly hollowed out into a garage, exiting onto the street.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Jonathan Joestar, Erina Joestar
NOTABLE CREATURES: Personal Pets
ADDITIONAL INFO: This stock cartoon here can give a rough idea of how the building is structurally laid out. Simply imagine other, similarly sized buildings beside it, and voila! The garage entry is at the front. Main image credit goes to The WoZoCo Apartments in Amsterdam.

Avengers Tower

Purchased a number of years ago by the former Marvel Cast, an iteration of Steve Rogers ultimately donated what was called 'Avengers Tower' to the city of Bavan itself.

Because of this, while the 'A' is still there, the tower might have received from changes from the city owners, as they've now owned the building for a few years. All but the top two floors are run by Bavanite businesses these days. Peter Parker and guests live and work on the top two floors. The Helipad has been cleaned up for flying species to land, roost and brood in peace.

It is, at any rate, considered the tallest building in the city, and locals know it as the 'Bavan Business Tower', 'A-Tower', and so on, so forth.

CASTLE HANDSOME

In the first step to Handsome Jack's 'buy a kingdom' plan, he purchased a gaudy, cathedral-esque castle from Mana. It now sits to the northeast of Bavan, by the coast, a great stone citadel with little around it. Gold and black banners embroidered with a large calligraphy 'H' on each hang on either side of the massive, gated entrance. A black and gold edged flag with a stylized gold emblem of Jack's mask flies from the highest tower.

A big wooden sign on the path leading up to castle reads 'Trespassers Will Be Fed to Monsters'.

CASTLE MIRAI

Castle Mirai is a Japanese fortress located a little ways northwest of Bavan, near Lake Dala. Though there are no designated roads leading to it, it is not particularly hard to find. It was established in 2015 by Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu and Gundam Tanaka, eventually passing to Makoto and now to Reverie. The castle is surrounded by a moat and a 20-foot wall and features a single, double-gated entrance. The words "Castle Mirai" are engraved (in English) over the outermost gate. In addition to a large courtyard, the castle features four main buildings: a single story palace, a six story tower keep, a single-room shrine, and a small watch tower.

Castle Von Krolock

A large, imposing 13th century Transylvanian castle, jutting up into the skyline on the eastern outskirts of Bavan. Back in the world it has been borrowed from, it belonged to the Von Krolock family, a pair of centuries old vampires. Now? It belongs to one very nervous young demon who struggles to keep it dusted.

A very dark castle, it's ideal for creatures that require the darkness. Among many, many bedrooms and bathrooms, it also features a library, a crypt, and a ballroom just begging for lavish parties.

CENTRAL PARK (CORRUPTED)

There are a few (large) parks in Bavan City, but one of the largest was overtaken by the Fourth God's power during a grab for the Night God's remaining dredges. What was home to a thriving Zoo, manmade lake, 'forest', fairground, and more, was quickly abandoned in the resulting 'corruption'. Now that it is permanent, all those who are not allied to Elias experience effects as listed here.

However, the park is not simply 'dead'. In an attempt to revitalize it, Reira scattered algae across it, and stolen power from the fog was used to make it grow. The result is that Central Park is now a realm of alien growth, with 'trees' and 'grasses' that glow due to the fiber optics from Reira's algae wool.

Since its permanent establishment, Reira has taken great care to mark off the various trails of the park that are 'safe', and removed as many small electronic sources (ie Lampposts) as possible, allowing Bavan's inhabitants to use it with relative safety (though it can be unpleasant for liars).

NOTABLE HABITANTS: N/A - Public Location tended to by Reira Akaba & 'Owned' by the 4th God
NOTABLE CREATURES: N/A
ADDITIONAL INFO: The result of Nightfall, which was followed by Reira's work as described above.

The Church of the Fog God

The Fog Church is a public church, only accessible by a number of trap doors. These trap doors can be found throughout all cities of Ryslig (particularly Bavan and Vandare) and are able to be opened using a Fog Follower's Key or a token that can be given out by any Fog Follower.

The church is out of this dimension and has a number of religious rooms and party rooms. The bar inside has an unlimited supply of booze and has a number of lights can be altered to change the mood of the bar. The storage closet has both religious tools and stripper poles/costumes in order to show worship to the Fog. So sacrifice or party. Learn about the Glorious Fog or celebrate your freedom in Ryslig, Monsters!

COLLEGE OF ARCHAEOLOGY

The College of Archaeology, originally founded by Triffany Lottablog in November 2022, is situated northeast of Vandare, near the road to Bavan. Students can live on one of the on-site dormitories or in nearby cities, and the local populace are employed as caretakers of the grounds. Scientists, artisans, and specialists in art restoration, folklore, and safe expedition procedures - including Haftesal residents and local monsters - are invited to teach here.

The college includes the two main educational buildings: one has lecture halls and labs, and the other houses offices and the library. Classes cover chemistry, biology, sociology, history, languages, arts (particularly in restoration and physical artwork creation), and cultural studies. Workshops are held on how to properly set up a dig site and excavate fragile artifacts and bones.

A museum is located on campus that houses artifacts rescued from the Bavan Historical Society Fire and is open to the public.

Djavulenstad

Following the Fourth God's corruption of the Devil's Nest, the Nesters decided to rebuild with an entire city.

God save everyone's souls.

Djavulenstad sits on Ryslig's coast, and it's a thriving, healthy community... made up mostly of criminals and outcasts. (Alright, so it's actually something of a hive of scum and villainy.) Even after Korra inherited the city and bar, not that much has changed, with Djavulenstad functioning much like a mafia run city.

It's a broad sprawl of big city streets and slums, which often become labyrinthine and near impossible to navigate without a guide or knowledge of the city. It also has a bustling dockfront where - if you know who and what you're looking for - you can find nearly everything your nasty little heart desires - drugs, standard black market items, cheap stolen goods and the like. The city is lit by neon all night through but for one hour: at 3 am, all but the streetlights go dark. Perhaps you'll see patches of activity through dimly lit windows...

Then again, that's if you can even get in. Those from outside the city will find themselves constantly getting lost and turned around when trying to find their way through it - that is, unless they happen to be led in by another monster who lives or works in the city, or they've found a matchbook. And even then, the latter burns itself out after a single visit. But with the loss of Greed and the other original Nesters, the magic that shrouded the city from being found has dissipated. You can find it easy enough, but once inside...

The infamous Devil's Nest itself lies in the very center of Djavulenstad like a spider perched on its web. It's a seedy bar, gathering hot spot for monsters and outcasts with both the staff and customer base questionable at best. Greed himself is always hiring, especially if you've got a talent or two to show off. Many of their activities are probably... not quite on the right side of the law, but if you're looking for a place to seek out information, or just a place that doesn't really care what you've become, feel free.

The only hard and fast laws are that violent crime against innocent monsters and humans is unacceptable. There's a certain amount of protection that living in Djavulentsad offers, and even thieves, smugglers and scam artists have a form of honor, if rough. Breaking that law carries swift and very unpleasant consequences...

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Korra/[personal profile] bent_the_world and a respectable number of native NPCs.

The Faros Academy

After the June 2022 arrivals, Horatio (formerly Number Five) Hargreeves devised a plan to create another location for Bavan residents to live in any particular time of crisis, regardless of their alignment with either or neither of the Gods. He wanted those without access to Dyster or the Arcade to feel like they could go somewhere and still be safe, as well as a space connected to The Lighthouse that felt more "homey" than the Church.

In keeping with his own personal goal to finally make something good out of the mess his previous life had been, he asked Mana to recreate his childhood home, The Umbrella Academy: a sprawling mansion comprised of an entire city block wrapped around an open courtyard. The building appeared at the end of June, once those who had been pulled into the UnderGround defeated the three Noise controlling the phenomenon and returned, setting the peninsula back to normal.

The block materialized and placed itself strategically equidistant to the 38-8 Apartments and the Lighthouse Headquarters, in the middle of South Bavan. The training grounds at the back half of the building are still under remodeling, there are 12 bedrooms available in the residential section. Horatio is rebranding the block as The Faros Academy, after the Greek word for "Lighthouse".

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Number Five, other residents TBA: please see Additional Info below for the current roster and any available rooms.
NOTABLE CREATURES: Dolores isn't a creature, she's a beautiful mannequin. Mind your manners.

Fox Hill

A huge, nine-floor underground bunker formerly known as simply "The Headquarters" sits on the eastern shore of Lake Dala, tucked up nicely between the lake and the city of Bavan with an entrance marked by a strange fox statue on top of a tiny hill. It caters to every edgy young adult's needs, with plenty of space for goofing off and destroying things - as well as providing plenty of resources for budding musicians to practice and perform.

The floors vary wildly, having everything from a UV maze lit with blacklights to a high school's music room, and each floor seems colder and colder the further one goes down. At the very bottom of the complex is a drop into a freezing cold, unlit, dirt pit- with evidence of someone long ago (Ibuki) tunneling around down there...

After the place is rediscovered by a certain former mutant, diligent efforts are now being put toward extensive cleanup, the cataloging of cool stuff left behind, and eventual renovation into a much more liveable space.

Helping Hands

Once the Lake Dala Spa and Clinic, and long since abandoned, Pure Vanilla has taken the time to renovate it and separate the buildings into two. It now focuses mainly on the Spa experience, with the clinic portion turn into resort like rooms for onsite extended stays.

Helping Hands is aimed for Monsters, and run mostly by Monsters. Staff are trained in the art of massage therapy and holistic healing. They offer a variety of services to those who make a reservation, but also offer same day massages if they have openings.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: No permanent inhabitants, but a rotation of staff.

HESTIA'S PLACE

Formerly a luxury hotel, Hestia's Place was the site of a massacre of the human occupants by followers of the Fog God. Rumors began to fly that the building was haunted, and it fell into disuse. Maya Hart took over the space and cleaned out the penthouse on the top floor, where she lived with her friends from home. Percy was invited to move in with them, and when they disappeared, he inherited the hotel. He decided, in honor of absent friends who helped him get on his feet, to make it into a youth hostel.

Now run by Korra, this place is a safe haven for any kid (loosely defined) who needs one. Rent is charged on a sliding scale and a case by case basis, and can be bartered for help cleaning up the bloodstains or doing chores.

HOLLOW TREE

A massive treehouse which has passed through multiple owners since the nymph who bought it. Appearing as a massive thing at the edge of the central woods in Ryslig, it is in fact largely hollow- with younger 'trees' growing through it to help provide the structure and support for the house it forms. While it's outfitted to act as a house year round, and magically protected from fire and ill-meaning intruders, it's currently being used as a 'Vacation House' by Noa Kaiba- who maintains it out of sentiment.

In the spring season, the leaves of the tree turn completely pink, blooming with flowers not unlike cherry blossoms. Despite its appearances however, the tree appears to be evergreen- never losing its leaves through the year (and thus, never losing its roof).

The House at Clipperhead Lake

A country smart house... Smart country house? A country house powered by many smart devices, located at a 20-30 minute distance (by bus) from Bavan. Notable not only for blending the aesthetic tastes of its inhabitants - modern Silicon Valley with a strong, strong helping of rural home and 70s disco - but also for its garden where Fiddleford cultivates his crops and raises his pigs.

The eponymous lake outside is also part of the property, sizable enough for any merman's hydration needs. Marco's hoard is at the bottom, some distance away from the dead body that is ALSO at the bottom. Don't worry about that last part.

HOUSE WITHIN THE HILL(S)

Buried almost entirely beneath a hill just north of Bavan, and not far from Lake Dala, the 'hill house' is relatively easy to miss save on bright sunny days, where the light reflecting off its glass upper room make manmade portions more obvious. Built largely through Mana's magic, the home is lit primarily through skylights on the upper floor-allowing various mosses and ferns to continue growing there-while the lower tunnel and bedrooms are left to be lit with either lanterns or otherwise. While Mana built it, much of the homing touches-such as cushions, and even doors-were added by the residents over time, making it a fairly cozy home for the ones living there.
Recently, a second hill was added for more comfortable lodgings, complete with a common room. Over all, the home has very much evolved into something of a rural apartment complex.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Reira Akaba & Various Others
NOTABLE CREATURES: Numerous Pets (incl. Horse outside), flower loving insects, koi fish, possible snakes in the garden.

LA FORTERESSE PRISON

La Forteresse (formerly known as Nightgod Moon Prison) is a large building located on the outskirts of Bavan, just to the north of the city. It is a place shrouded in darkness and secrecy, and the Javert, Acting Warden of the prison, makes it no secret that his intent is to run an airtight, severe, and irreproachable symbol of justice for Monsterkind.

Not only is it strongly built and secure, but it is modern, clean, and strict, in accordance with 1950s technology. It is magical enough to contain even the most powerful of monsters, and any monster that steps foot inside the prison will be subject to power-dampening effects that nullifies strengths but not weaknesses. Only keepers of prison keys — i.e., employees and valued guests — are immune to the effects, and key-bearers must keep the key on their person at all times to maintain their advantage over the prison’s magic. On rare occasions, the magic shorts out, leaving player characters an OOC-coordinated option for premature escape.

Since Inspector Javert’s wardenship of the prison, plenty of changes have been put into effect from the top down. Humans acting out against monsters have become the primary inmates at La Forteresse. Good behavior earns human inmates recreational privileges during their stay. Yet according to the rumors, very few humans are saddled with permanent stays. In fact, the vast majority of them never leave once they enter, instead left to the whims of the demon AM’s harsh and cruel tortures as the prison’s Punitive Director. No human will be subject to imprisonment, interrogation, and execution unless their case is backed up by sound evidence.

Monster prisoners are treated most humanely of all prior to their punishment, and each confined monster will be given a cell to accommodate the basic needs of their monster type and size (ie, a nymph would have some plants and soil to put their roots in, mers would have pools of water, etc.). It takes a singularly egregious offense to imprison a Monster; only crimes of a treasonous nature, committed against Monster society as a whole, will suffer the indignities of prison. Monsters of this fiendish caliber will be subject to physical torture, psychological reconditioning, or even execution (all of which are done with explicit player permission and worked out OOCly).

No monster shall be held permanently, as the Fog does not wish for permanent confinement for her children.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: AM (Punitive Director and current acting warden), various prison guards and other employees, prisoners
NOTABLE CREATURES: N/A
ADDITIONAL INFO: La Forteresse was once known as the Nightgod Moon Prison under the directorship of L and Light. Since changing hands, Javert has renamed the facility to suit his purposes and restructured rules and procedures.

LOTUS PIER

The residence of the Yunmeng Jiang cultivation sect, normally located in Yunmeng, China, now to be found at the northern edge of Lake Minska across from Kulen (and the bug hive) in the south.

Lotus Pier is an estate located by and on the water. It includes docks and water pavilions at the lakeside as well as a large number of one-storied, wooden buildings of traditional Chinese build. The residence is protected by its walls. It includes among others living quarters and training facilities (including training fields) for what would at home be hundreds of disciples and servants, as well as such buildings like Sword Hall, an audience hall with a lotus-shaped "throne," and the Jiang clan's ancestral hall with the memorial tablets of their deceased.

The estate is striking in that it blends land and water, with many buildings placed on or by the water, sometimes connected by wooden bridges. Lotus flowers, the symbol of the Jiang sect, bloom on the waters within the estate and on Lake Minska by the docks. The lotuses are both decorative and harvested for food.

Lou Jitsu School of Ninjtsu

The Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu is a place within Bavan that teaches anyone, monster or human alike, about the art of self-defense and combat from a variety of situations. The school is run by Bucky Barnes, with guest teachers on occasion.

The two story red brick building looks as though it were plucked straight from a New York City street, with the usual wear and tear of a slightly dilapidated neighborhood. While the windows inside the first floor have been covered with thick curtains for the sake of the gargoyle teacher, posters of an attractive Japanese man in a strangely fancy suit are still visible taped to the glass. The dojo contains locker rooms for men and women, a storage room for training equipment, and the inside is adorned with a variety of posters, mostly of the same Japanese man hocking a variety of products. The first floor is open for practice and training at all hours even without lessons, though the stairs to the apartment on the second floor are kept behind a sturdy locked door.

Though the windows on one side of the building remain perpetually curtained like the downstairs, others open or close as normally expected for ongoing living. The fire escape also seems to see regular use by the occupants.

Merain

The water-loving village of Merain rests on the far north shore of the mainlands, past Bavan and facing Plaga's Peak and the shores of Tunn. Near the mouth of Lake Fors, the human residents make their living on the rival fishing market to Vandare— though they're much too small to be a threat at the moment. It's tinier even than Rota was, which makes things a little easier for its residents right now as they're just starting to build their community.

Being that everything is almost shore-side, the village needs to avoid flooding. As such, all of its buildings are raised and the 'roads' that exist between them are on raised platforms. Where the village stretches just slightly into the sea, these wooden "roads" carry over the water and protect the residences from any stormy tides.

The very small population of human residents, mostly fisherwomen who have left the lower shores, have a pact with the monsters living there; an attempt at a thriving fishing community in exchange for mutual safety.

OPPURRTUNKITTY

Following a discussion with Handsome Jack, Noa opted to use his funds from Mana to create a purrfect paradise of a city somewhat to the north east of Bavan- 'Oppurrtunkitty'.

Built with the intention of acting as a large-scale home for stray cats, the entire city ultimately has homes with interiors much like the above, with tunnels above and below ground for the cats to travel around across as well. Any (normal) cat that goes in cannot leave unless adopted, and while anyone or anything is within city limits, a cat cannot so much as be tripped over without the purrpetrator being teleported instantly out of city limits. The exception goes to the veterinary staff on site- who of course have to do things like administer shots and the like.

Due to its nature of constantly bringing in cats, many of those hired to work there are living there permanently- the entire city is relatively self-sufficient, particularly as all of the additions to the feline crew are altered to prevent unexpected litters. Have a bad day? Go pet the cats!

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Former Bavanite NPCs working on-site, but "owned" by Noa.

RAINBOW POOL

For Haruka Nanase's birthday, Tsukikage decided that instead of going to buy a present, he was going to make one. In light of conflicts in Bavan though, he ended up constructing it in the most neutral yet accessible territory he can think of.

Located between Bavan and Vandare, near the clinic, the Rainbow Pool is an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a brick floor, proper cleaning grate and a wire fence with a sign telling people to be civil. A cabana bar has recently been installed for smoothies and alcohol-free tiki drinks. There's a small maintenance shed filled with supplies, but as it's been padlocked, it's not accessible. The pool itself is approximately 50 meters long, with twelve lap lanes, which means there's more than enough space for multiple monsters to swim at leisure. There's a single long slide and a diving board. While the original owners are no longer present, some NPCs are willing to upkeep it. Or maybe it's magic?

SAINT FLORA'S ACADEMY FOR THE MONSTROUS

On the southern outskirts of Bavan is a school campus that, were it inside the city itself, might not be that strange looking. It's concrete fence is worn and the building itself looks old even if it doesn't quite match the look of Bavan city. Niina Yamada received this campus from Mana over a misunderstanding about what she considered a 'home' to be.

Far from being an actual center of learning, Saint Flora's Academy is currently being used as a refuge and recreational area for both human and monster teenagers. There's a large dormitory where the residents currently live while the former school building itself is used for other things, including storage. A gym, small chapel, flower gardens, various sports courts and swimming pool gives the inhabitants various activities to keep themselves occupied.

The Academy's residents are supposed to live together. That is, the human teenagers are very pro-monster and are living there for protection. Due to that, no killing is allowed on campus grounds and definitely no eating of other residents or volunteers.

While Saint Flora's is mainly a place of safety for teenagers, others may visit the facilities for a small donation of money, (non-human) food, clothes or various other supplies. Visitors are also allowed.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Niina Yamada & some teenage NPCs
NOTABLE CREATURES: A small group of stray dogs and cats.

Sephtis Keep

An old castle located on the outskirts of Bavan, Sephtis Keep has long been the source of dark rumors. Often it is referred to as the Demon Castle, largely due to its owner as well as the unfortunate rumors that will scare any child from accidentally hitting their baseball into its yard. Perhaps one of the most well-known rumors about the place is that it houses an in-tact medieval torture dungeon... But those are just rumors, right?

It is a medieval castle with parts in ruins and other parts modernized with electricity and other conveniences. A moat runs all alongside the castle and a drawbridge serves as basic protection. Inside the quadrangular castle is a courtyard surrounded by the defensive towers, though of course they serve very little defensive use these days. The rooms that are not in disrepair consist of a grand foyer, bedrooms, studies, and of course a kitchen and elegant dining area.

Again, there is definitely not a medieval torture-dungeon here! That's just a rumor! And there definitely is not a large room on one of the upper levels consisting of humans who have been agonizingly petrified for years...

SK8RS UNDERPASS

Sk8rs Underpass started life as a Day God church, before being abandoned and eventually left to rot. Then it was bought by Joshua, Neku, and Shoka to be presented to Beat on his birthday as a gift, brought up to code and turned into an indoor skate park. In return, he turned it into a youth center for at risk Bavan youths who need a safe place to go, no matter the hours.

While the outside looks much as it did when it was a church, the inside has been renovated with ramps and half pipes on one side, wooden dummies and free standing punching bags on the other, and a basketball court in the back yard. Further work has been done to bring the place in line with safety standards, as well as open some side rooms to turn them into sleeping spaces for those who need it. There's also a steady supply of food, extra clothing, and necessities readily available for kids who need it.

Sodfyre

The Strands Watch Lighthouse stood here already when Lord Strand acquired the cove, origin long forgotten. It towers lonely atop a cliff, reaching high into the sky, almost comically oversized for such a small cove. Despite being abandoned for the longest time, the light kept turning on when the fog comes. Visitors can sometimes glimpse a family of foxes with peculiar blue fur living nearby, though they are shy and avoiding people.

Recently Sigrud je Harkvaldsson took up residency there, repairing the building, adding a proper dock at the base of the cliff and generally outfitting it as a home for himself as well as a shelter for any sailor or traveler in need who can't make it to another port. He's renamed it Sodfyre, the southern fire.

Twilight Town Train Station

After many exchanges in hands, this building stood abandoned for some time before the Ring-Spirit decided it would make a good homebase for his adopted cultists, the Fritvælge Tågesandt. The previous owners all long gone, the history of this building is largely unknown to its current inhabitants.

The now-inexplicable train station sits within a small wood just outside of Bavan, with tunnels that run from beneath it to a few exits around the forest edge. The ground floor is primarily an open area suitable for combat practice (and it remains a truly open area, meaning forest animals tend to wander freely in and out), with some office space that had once been reworked into a laboratory and has since been re-reworked into a woodblock printing press operation. In the upper tower there is a living area, as well as access to the inner workings to the distinctive clock. (It’s fully functional, and the bells toll the hour.)

While the building does have electricity and the Ring-Spirit is trying to convince the cultists to take more advantage of the fact, the cultists remain fairly technophobic and have retrofitted the living area to suit a low-to-no electricity lifestyle. They have completed turning the lab/office area into their own printing press, but as they pen new pamphlets they’re forced to update their printing equipment; so that area remains always slightly under construction.

Located in central Bavan right up next to Bavan General Hospital, Veritas Morgue & Mortuary was retrofitted from a long-term care facility and founded as an alternative monster-morgue location to the old one deep in La Forteresse, which was not the best location for fostering monster-human cooperation. The human coroners pass the mysterious deaths and suspected-monster-attack victims to Veritas, where they are duly autopsied, usually identified, and next of kin notified. In addition, the soup kitchen has graciously agreed to collect any identifying items it can from its donations and pass them along, assisting with closing some of Bavan's massive backlog of missing persons cases.

The current director, Sherlock Holmes, does not believe in team building outings or company culture but does believe in sufficient staffing and fair wages (even for the interns), and if you can stomach some really gruesome corpses and long hours during and after the worse Fogs, it's not a bad place to work.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Sherlock Holmes, Rachel Gardner, Ianthe Tridentarius, and Chiaki Nanami don't live here but it sure seems that way some Fog weeks.
NOTABLE CREATURES: A lot of corpses.
ADDITIONAL INFO: OOC post for staffing here!

WASHINGTON ESTATE

Formerly the Estate Bed and Breakfast under the tenure of one Mister Treble, in his absence it was claimed by Former Colleagues Gabriel Morgenstern and Montgomery Rhodes, who have largely refit the building into Ragnarök, an inn with more of a focus on life as a venue for both food and live music. Popular among the socialites of Bavan for evening meals and the weekly Brunch (served Saturdays), it's largely staffed by humans, and as such violence inside the premises is strictly forbidden.

Monsters will find that there is a Monsters only lounge, complete with a small cinema, and if given enough notice, more monster suitable meals can be... Acquired.

The décor has largely been removed of its decidedly orange bent, with a much more art deco appeal, complete with art deco wall art featuring monsters and twisting vines. Rooms available on request.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Some NPC human staff members always on site.
NOTABLE CREATURES: A tank of garden eels on display in the foyer.
ADDITIONAL INFO:INFOPAGE.

W.E.B. Headquarters

W.E.B is a brigade of superheroes, and those in training to be heroes who protect the local Bavan area! The group is currently run by Peter Parker (Spider-Man), with the help of his friends and mentors.

W.E.B. HQ is a very unassuming looking warehouse on the very edge of Bavan. The warehouse has seen much better days given the amount of wear and tear visible. The exterior has been cleaned up to some extent, and the doors and windows have been repaired to keep the elements out of the building. Unless invited, the doors remain locked. Then again, who would want to walk into a run down looking building like this?

There is no outward sign of super heroics within beyond the occasional spider or spaceship drawn on the building. But, really, it just looks like standard graffiti if one isn't looking for the artwork.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Peter Parker, Chiaki Nanami, Steven Grant

WHQN Radio

Brought about by accident when Harley Quinn begged Mana for "all her music and something to play it with". In Bavan's industrial district is an office building like any other- except for the huge radio tower on the roof, with big glowing red letters spelling WHQN down the front.

Two stories tall, not including the basement, the station includes a reception area, office space, meeting/break rooms, and two soundproof recording/broadcasting studios. The basement is where record storage is kept. Following Crash's takeover of the station and a... dramatic remodeling by fire and Mana's magic, it's now full of all music from 1980 to 2005, contained within enchanted vinyl records. This same revamp also caused the building to become mildly haunted- playing whatever music it wishes every once in a while.

The station's frequency is set to FM 96.9.

NOTABLE HABITANTS: Taken over by Crash Bandicoot

This is more to be safe, but I'm assuming that as npc maintained/god maintained locations, the Rainbow Pool and Corrupted Central Park don't need a claim?

I'll tie them under Reira if necessary since technically the park was her fault via Elias, and the pool itself was maintained by Tsukikage before it became publicly maintained, but if the entries can remain as is I'd prefer that.
