God Boons

◉ NAVIGATION

GOD BOONS

INFORMATION

With the gods at war with each other, they offer tantalizing additional bonuses to their loyal followers -- but these also come with a few strings attached. Will you join a side, or remain neutral in the conflict?

Characters can be recruited in two ways: by the god, or by a god follower. The gods can open their realms to anyone at any time if a character wishes to enter. Followers always have access to their god's respective realms, and can bring in a recruit to swear allegiance.

The gods will not punish a character if they leave their side; that would only solidify their resolve to leave. However, they will remove any boons and bonuses they might have granted them. If the character rejoins, their status with be reset to entry level, and they will need to work their way up in the ranks once more.

HOW TO ALLY WITH A GOD AND RECEIVE BOONS

When a character completes a tier requirement, you can submit the form below to have them receive acknowledgment and rewards. Threads don't have to be finished at the time of submission, but they should be a good way through, and please don't handwave them entirely. You may request as many of the listed tier rewards as you like once you've reached the appropriate tier.

You may notice sections for "Offering Description" and "Reward Description". The table below is just a sample of the boons available and the requirements to get them. You don't have to do or ask for these exact things. You may choose to replace any of the listed deeds or rewards with an appropriate substitute of your own design, and they will be judged on an individual basis.

The gods favor certain traits and actions of their followers. The Fog God, for instance, values strength, freedom, and invoking fear in others. She highly encourages her children to live freely, without the inhibitions of human society. Some examples can include demonstrating the power of monsters to frighten the human populace, killing a rival in revenge, disrupting a serious occasion just for the hell of it, or generally doing things without caring for the consequences.

On the other hand, the Fourth God values cunning, subterfuge, and control. His priorities lie in furthering the technology of the peninsula, introducing progress to the world, and standing up against the Fog God. Some examples of deeds include spreading the secrets of others (especially Fog followers), manipulating monsters and/or humans to work against the Fog, or inventing some new technology.

If a character's request doesn't align enough with these ideals, their god may bestow upon them something more to their liking without warning. This is effectively an IC explanation for a request a character wouldn't make on their own. If you would like to do this, outline your request in the backfire section.

If your character wants to leave a god, you are free to do so without notice or handwave a prayer on the respective god's page. Keep in mind that leaving a god will remove all previously gained boons!

THE FOG GOD
The Fog God, so they say, is a usurper of the Day and Night gods popularly worshipped on the peninsula. It is she who brings in unsuspecting souls from other worlds and warps their bodies into monstrous forms. She is capricious and becomes jealous easily. She enjoys the chaos that currently plagues Ryslig -- both watching and causing it. It would mean the universe to her if her monsters would go out and cause some discord of their own.

Worship and Pray to the Fog

THE FOURTH GOD
The Fourth God is an artificial god created by Dr. Liewen, in an effort to make a being strong enough to combat the Fog. He was imprisoned and isolated by the Fog God, until the actions of her monsters allowed him to be freed. He now possesses a burning hatred for her and her followers, and will stop at nothing to destroy her. He is calculating and distant, and desires control of the peninsula.

Worship and Pray to the Fourth

THE KEY TO DYSTER
Those who side with the Fog God will be provided with a silver key, old and dull fog-silver. It fits in any lock, no matter the style, and opening a door with it will bring them to Dyster. They will be greeted by the people of the town, who are more than happy to see them. Here, they can stay for as long as they want, and partake in the feasting.

This is not the Dyster some arrivals may remember, and people who try to visit it on the peninsula proper will find an empty ghost town. The people in Dyster don't seem quite dead or alive, but they treat any follower of the Fog God like royalty, and they will eagerly accept new followers in their fold. They will provide them with a more than willing human sacrifice if the monster is hungry. It will calm their hunger but not indefinitely.

Those who stay for periods of time in the city may feel an unnatural loyalty to the Fog God and her cause, to the point of worship. Characters can leave by using the key against any door in town, and return to where they had first entered.
THE ARCADE'S KEYCARD
Those who side with the Fourth God will be provided an unusually modern-looking plastic card. There's no writing on the front or the back, but there is a hologram of rainbow hues on a black background that flashes wildly when the card is moved around. Insert the card on the side of a door like a slot, and they will be transported to the Arcade when they open it.

They will arrive in the grand atrium of an enormous mall and entertainment complex, all in glowing neon and glassy linoleum. Technology from various different time periods is available here, up through the early 1990s – matching the day-glo transparent-plastic aesthetic. The TVs and video games, film reels in the giant-screen theater and ballroom-sized-ball-pit balls, cannot be removed from the complex, which rivals Dyster in size, and the only shopfronts with merchandise seem to be the food court, which is free, and run by robots. It's a significant upgrade from the seedy arcade it was, before October 2022 gave the Fourth God a boost. However, the same set of large red curtains can be found, behind which lies a sterile looking room full of seated humans with strange visors who will not respond to any sort of stimuli. There is a large basin towards the back filled with water, and any time a human is killed or fed on a robot will enter and clean the area.

Those who stay for periods of time in the Arcade may feel an unnatural loyalty to the Fourth God and his cause, to the point of camaraderie. Characters can leave by pressing the card against a door and return to where they had first entered.
RESURRECTION

Loyal followers may resurrect in their god’s domain, rather than where their life ended. When they choose to leave, their god will return them to a safe place on the peninsula (at the player's discretion).

To a follower's guests, the environs may seem strange, but no harm shall come to those who awaken here. They're welcome to stay a while to recuperate, but a permanent residency would be frowned upon; eventually, they may find themselves guided out of this realm, returning back to Ryslig somewhere safe - and sometimes just within reach of the person who protected them in the first place.

TIER ONE

Tier one boons are small, and are mainly a way for the gods to give their converts a taste of what they can offer. These rewards are immediately available to anyone who pledges themselves to a god. When initially pledging to a god, it is not necessary to submit a prayer--though, if you would like to handwave a prayer, you are free to do so. Therefore, it is not necessary to include an offering for this tier.

FOG
A minor power appropriate to the Fog God (think fear, strength, destruction)

Smallest rooms in Dyster (a single bed, no window)

Resurrecting inside Dyster after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days)

A small aesthetic body modification tailored towards fear and intimidation (e.g. extra/bigger teeth, red/scarier eyes, claws if your monster doesn’t already have them)

An instinctive knowledge of how many days they have left before the hunger overtakes them
LIEWEN
A minor spell appropriate to the Fourth God (think stealth, control, invasion)

Smallest rooms in the arcade (barely a bed and a radio, you can hear the arcade outside)

Resurrecting inside the arcade after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days)

A small aesthetic cybernetic body modification (e.g. wires, circuit boards, Tron lines)

A death counter plugin on their PC that has a little image of their head with an x00 number of lives lost next to it. If a character were to die more than 99 times, it would simply start over.

TIER TWO

Tier two boons are larger, and are the first true rewards for doing a god's bidding. It represents a character being ready to dedicate themselves to a god's cause. A character might reach tier two by sacrificing a human to their god, successfully converting a neutral character, or performing public deeds in the name of their god. They also must be a follower for at least a month.

FOG
A second power appropriate to the Fog God

A bigger room in Dyster (queen-size bed, windows, storage)

Instant resurrection in Dyster after being killed.

A major body modification (e.g. flightless wings, large horns, extra limbs)

Taking on a new way to feed (flesh, energy, souls). This doesn’t replace your old one, but gives you a second option.
LIEWEN
A second spell appropriate to the Fourth God

A bigger room in the arcade (soundproof, larger, queen-sized bed)

Instant resurrection in the arcade after being killed

A modified fog form. While an alternate form assumed during fog days is available to everyone, a Fourth follower’s fog form may include cybernetic limbs or other changes appropriate to Fourth. This is a result of the Fourth God attempting to remove the Fog’s influence.

Extending the protection of the arcade to a neutral character of the follower’s choosing. That character, upon death, will resurrect in the Arcade after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days). He will never protect a Fog follower.

TIER THREE

You're getting serious. You've got your sleeves firmly rolled up and however much blood you get on your hands in the process, so be it. You've done your action and maybe you balked a little at first, but now that you know what it really takes, you're still all-in.

Tier three rewards are for truly devout followers, and it takes a great act to appease the gods enough to get here. Such acts might include a mass sacrifice of people, the successful conversion of an opposing follower, or killing an opposing follower. (Keep in mind that killing or sacrificing in self-defense, or for their own reasons, does not count - it must be expressly done for their god!)

FOG
A third major power, appropriate to the Fog God

A house in Dyster (the works)

Immortality. Only destroying the brain or the heart can kill a tier three Fog follower.

A new, alternate monster form, subject to mod approval. Some examples would include having a beefed-up fog form (go wild on the horror!), or switching at will to a closely related monster type (e.g. gargoyles into dragons).

Exchanging the cybernetic modification imparted by the Fourth God for an aesthetic monstrous modification of your choice. Please see common monster traits for details about the cybernetic modification.

Increased ferocity and strength and lowered inhibitions while in fog form.

Extending the protection of Dyster to a neutral character of the follower’s choosing. That character, upon death, will resurrect in Dyster after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days). She will never protect a Fourth follower.
LIEWEN
A third major spell, appropriate to the Fourth God

A large room in the arcade (the works)

Instantly resurrect via static in any TV or radio of your choice.

The ability to teleport from one location to another using radios. Monsters only have to touch the radio, and imagine the location where they wish to go. Note that the target location also needs a radio that is turned on.

You can regenerate missing limbs or other body parts while in the arcade, but this will take some time, is painful, and the resulting parts may have a cybernetic look to them.

Removing the biological need for conventional food (not humans), sleep, or even breathing.

Immunity to the memory loss incurred from multiple deaths. This is not a perfect reward, as Fourth is not a true god and has a higher rate of error for difficult abilities. (This is a loophole in case you still want to play out memory loss.)

PRIESTS

You will do anything in service of your god. You are theirs to use as they see fit. You know you're on the right side of history, and you'll do whatever is in your power to make sure your god prospers.

The priests of each god gain unique and powerful abilities. The abilities favored by each god are explained below, but you may request a different power instead if one suits you better. In order to obtain priesthood, a follower must be in tier three, and have been in Ryslig for at least four months. When asking for priesthood, please explain in great detail the lengths to which your character has gone for their god, and the deeds they have done in their name. These will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

Please do not ask in the god prayer boxes for ideas for a Priest offering. Priest offerings must be something you have OOCly devised yourself. You may submit a Priest form with an offering you have already come up with, request the relevant god somehow prompts your character to perform it, and then (if approved) ICly ask in the god prayer box to receive this prompt. However, things your character does entirely on their own initiative will be more highly looked upon by the gods as proof of their devotion and motivation, and are far more likely to qualify as a Priest offering.

FOG
Fog priests are instantly identifiable by their gray capes, made to resemble the Fog God’s long hair. The collar and hem of the cape are frayed, and when the wind blows through them it almost seems like parts of them trail off with it, like the fog itself...but that’s just a trick of the light, right?

When priests speak, their voices have a whisper behind them.

Fog priests may command the fog as they wish, bringing it forth where there is none and manipulating it around them. Gargoyles and trolls shrouded in fog need not fear the sun, and day-blind monsters have perfect vision. A character with a fog form may freely transform in this as well.
LIEWEN
Fourth priests do not have any set outfits, but they are given a unique marking on their hand when accepted by the Fourth. It may be a power symbol, a pattern of wires, or even a symbol from the character’s home world. Whatever it is, it will glow when other Fourth followers are near.

Fourth priests may temporarily stop time in their vicinity, affecting anyone who does not follow the Fourth God. They can also access the rsdos network at will without use of a laptop.

Character Name: Daisukenojo "Beat" Bitou
Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: Instead of doing one LARGE thing to show his devotion to Elias, Beat has done several small things over the course of time. He encountered Aqua in the Cube, telling her about Elias and later filling her in on Elias' desire to help return monsters back to the people they once were, as well as defeat the Fog. This ended with Aqua recruiting into Elias' friend circle. Later he asked Elias to empower the music he was going to use for his Blacklight party, to induce feelings of good-will towards Elias and to increase suspicions of the Fog and her words. It also helped quite a few monsters relax and simply have fun for a bit. This subtle influence nudged Fitz into handing over his Dyster key and returning to Neutral, which he confronted Beat about. This party also painted a target on Beat's back that he was willing to do things in Elias' name. Finally, as the cherry on the top, he joined Josh and others in borrowing Haftesal vacuums to steal Fog to power Elias up for an eventual plan of Josh's, then with Josh sucked up enough fog that it caused a thinning over the peninsula, affecting monsters and the Fog God herself.
Link: Here + Here/Here + Here + Here
Reward Tier: Tier 3

Reward Description: True Shapeshifting

- His shapeshifting is buffed as far as it will go. Wings can carry him, extra limbs are monster strong.
- I'd like to bypass both the per day and for an hour requirement as well, allowing for multiple shifts per day and the ability to hold the form for longer periods of time. Limits are fine if needed for both!
- His ears will STILL stay because that's hilarious.
- He will not gain any powers if he copies monster forms! (no vampire speed, no misting, etc).

• A large room in the arcade (the works).

• Instantly resurrect via static in any TV or radio of your choice.

• The ability to teleport from one location to another using radios.

• Regenerate missing limbs or other body parts while in the arcade.

• Immunity to the memory loss incurred from multiple deaths.

Backfire (for abilities characters wouldn't ask for ICly): He will actually ask for a buff to his shapeshifting this time, unaware Elias has been the one making it better to begin with!

Character Name: Emily Grey
Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: Emily has just been generally obliging and helpful towards the cause since she signed up, starting with acting on Elias's request to get in good with Haftesal, helping recruit Norman, and finally in planning and executing Operation: Vacuum with Beat and Josh. (She also shittalks the Fog a lot—in a very Emily way that doesn't really seem like shittalking if you don't know her—but she'd do that even if she were still neutral.)
Link:
-A little light recruiting.
-Acting on Elias's suggestion to assist the Haftesal scientists. (I'm not sure how much NPC-only stuff counts towards tiering up, but I would like it on record that Emily is not blowing Elias off.)
-Helping plan and execute the Great Haftesal Vacuum Heist. (I believe this alone is enough for Tier 2, but Emily's an overachiever.)
Reward Tier: Tier 2
Reward Description:
-A second spell appropriate to the Fourth god: The ability to toggle expanded visual perceptions, specifically into the UV and IR, and what amounts to x-ray vision so that she can be her own CT scanner because she's tired of the trash x-ray machines available in Ryslig. The x-ray ability would function just like actual x-rays. It would be blocked by sufficiently dense materials such as lead and go through sufficiently x-ray transparent ones, meaning she wouldn't be able to do something like look through a wall and read a book on the other side. (I'm not sure how far Tier 2 rewards stretch, so I'm open to something like a time limit or a cooldown.)
-A bigger room in the arcade
-Instant resurrection in the arcade after being killed

A quick belated question, mods. On the feeding I changed my mind on how it would work to allow consumption of non-human meals. (Basically just lil bites/suction. She couldn’t bite a human or monster with any real affect but she could now eat a pepper if she desired.) As this is just flavor (no pun intended) and I believe that this works like the equivalent Mana purchase would this be alright? Since with Mana purchases a suitable way to actually eat becomes available.

DYSTER PROTECTION

[personal profile] knifemonopoly 2022-05-01 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi team! Atem's going to have Cairo be his protected neutral character!
knifemonopoly: (what's left inside)

[personal profile] knifemonopoly 2022-05-06 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Name: Atem
Alignment: Fog
Offering Description: OK, hear me out. So. He hasn't done a player event. But from the very beginning, Atem has gone above and beyond the minimum requirements for the Fog. His first tier involved a proper offering as befitted a god, showing the proper fear and respect due a divine being, though in this case he could have gotten away with just pledging.
His second offering involved going around with his boyfriend, frightening humans explicitly in the name of the Fog. At the end of the night, they murdered one person for the Fog God and terrorized several more, upsetting a business operation. He could have just dedicated a murder.
His third offering reached many people, both monster and human. He made the offering big in order to increase the Fog-given powers of four friends of his, who he recruited personally. He also fully believes that nothing can protect humans against monsters, and that to try is to indulge in a false sense of security: he did not hesitate to rip that sense of security away. The amount of fear generated by the broadcast was enough to turn the humans of Bavan, which traditionally have been friendly toward monsters, against them. He's managed to frighten even the humans who don't personally know anyone who's been killed by a monster. In addition, Atem lost his human connections -- all human NPCs he was friendly with won't give him the time of day, and he cannot make a living using ordinary human means like gambling anymore. Many monster-run businesses, such as The Last Drop and everything Giorno runs, have banned him from the premises, as well.
His priest offering is a full-blown attempt to return Elias's stolen power back to the Fog God and return Elias to (a) human form. (It's Ash's human form, but you know what, how many people do YOU know giving out corpses?) Atem smashes Haftesal's fog supply, and gets to the Arcade's canisters too, and does his best to reverse-suck the Fog back out of them -- and some of Elias's power, as well. He does his very best to force Elias into one of Ash's leftover corpses, as an alternative to murder because he's personally fond of Reira and also because he doubts murder would work but a human vacation just might. Even though it fails, it's a clear demonstration of just how much "The Fog Is Order and Elias is Chaos" kool-aid Atem's been drinking. It leads to the 2022 monster swap, and all the chaos that comes with it.

In addition to these tiers, Atem's been sharing the views the Fog asked him to share with other monsters. The text of his post announcing the tier 3 broadcast contained this, and more personally, he has expressed to the more nonviolent followers that the Fog God is vengeful and wants humans to be afraid and be eaten. He is directly, if not traditionally, responsible for Thief King Bakura joining the Fog, and preached to him about how the Fog is the right choice, too. He installed a spy in Haftesal using his Fog-given hallucination powers, mistrusting their actions if not their intentions, recognizing them as a threat to the Fog and the order he feels she represents. He also passed information about a fast-climbing Fourth follower to a Fog priest, fully intending to throw a wrench into Fourth plans. He's befriended Fourth priests, but he won't hesitate to use what he knows to stop them from doing what he sees as causing needless trouble.
He argues whenever it comes up that the need to eat humans cannot be resisted, only managed. He encourages monsters to kill in ways they find emotionally sustainable and discourages them from big gestures that would separate monsters from human prey and lead monsters to suffer. He tells newcomers to be monstrous, because he thinks that's the best way for them to protect themselves, and is heavily involved with gatherings of Fog followers.

Atem sincerely believes the best way to protect himself and the people he loves is through the power of the Fog. He's very deliberately made himself a frightening monster, in imitation of AM and Aunamee, and he'll willingly work alongside Javert to maintain what he sees as order in the face of Elias's rebellion: Elias's plans don't work, they only cause conflict, and for the sake of a stable, if horrifying, continued existence in Ryslig and avoiding needless suffering, Elias must be stopped.
Link: Here.
Reward Tier: Priest, baby!
Reward Description: Alternate Priest-Level Ability: The ability to re-take the form of any monster temp he's previously had. Again, I'll accept any per-day/time limits as appropriate.
Whispers behind his voice: Like Javert, Atem can suppress the spooky quality to his voice if he chooses by exercising tight composure.

Quick question about the tier 3 living spaces in the arcade! Tier 3 Fog followers get an entire house, so what can we expect for Fourth followers as far as size, amenities, general design/aesthetic and tech levels? I didn't want to go designing a modern minimalist-style apartment for Joshua only to be way off base, so I thought I'd ask beforehand!

Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: FOODIO-3000's CPU, handed right over to Elias, with the promise of bringing it to Haftestal after Elias is done with it.
Link: Here.
Reward Tier: 2
Reward Description:
A second spell appropriate to the Fourth god: Creating robots! Dib's been gifted with the knowledge and resources (through the arcade) to make little robots. I'll accept time limits and number-of-robots-at-a-time and robot-capability limits as stated. I'm imagining they're not truly self-aware (though, rather like Furbys, sometimes they say comedically-timed unsettling things) and follow instructions a little too literally. And, of course, Elias is aware of everything they do.

That character, upon death, will resurrect in the arcade instead of wherever they died. He will never protect a Fog follower. No one yet: will comment if this changes.

Hey mods, I have some quick questions of what might be allowed for tier 1 boons before I decide on what I want to go for:

1) Would the ability to breathe fire count as a minor power? I assume the ability to conjure/control fire otherwise would count as an upgraded version, so I thought maybe just fire breathing would be okay.

2) Tying into the above question, if I wanted a body mod that involved slight illumination of the body from the inside (like the throat/chest taking on a bit of an orange glow) while breathing fire, would that be allowed? Basically for that extra intimidation factor, but it's purely aesthetic.

3) Could a pair of small horns be okay as a tier 1 body mod, or is that more of a tier 2 boon? I'm asking just to be sure cause it mentions large horns under tier 2.

Thank you!

EDIT: EDITING THIS SUPER FAST to add since it was brought to my attention and I hadn't even seen it until now but way back a question about manticore horns was answered here; I know this probably isn't the right place to get clarification on that, but if possible I wanted to ask if this rule is still applicable or not? Cause it would probably affect whether or not I go with horns at all for a fog boon (though I assume fog boon horns would be a lot sturdier, of course).

Character Name: Joshua
Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: Only a couple of weeks after arriving here, Joshua took notice of how Elias kept his promise of helping the Day and Night followers and decided to forge an alliance with him, recognizing him as a fellow entity that could not only help to get his own abilities back (to an extent), but find a way home as well; in exchange, he offered to help Elias take care of the Fog. Not long after, he capitalized on Beat's curiosity about Elias and convinced him to join the side of the Fourth, earning him Tier 2 status. Around Nattensfest, Joshua came to Elias expressing interest in reaching out to Shibuya for outside help, to which Elias proposed opening a portal. Said portal would need sufficient power, though. Elias suggested taking power away from the Fog by coercing her followers into giving up their power, but in February, with the opening of Haftesal and the reveal of the fog-sucking vacuums, Joshua saw a different option. In March, he organized the "theft" of some vacuums with a few other Fourth followers and a couple of neutral parties, in order to suck up and store fog with the intent of using them for powering the portal. These vacuums were stored until they had a good opportunity to use them. In late March, after Atem & Co.'s post to the network, he jumped on the opportunity to spread some anti-Fog rumors around Bavan, and still continues to do this periodically. In early April, as the beginning-of-the-month fog began to settle in, Joshua took Beat out to vacuum up as much fog as they could, but they were accosted by Javert in the process. Though Joshua ended up beaten and bloodied, he managed to vacuum Javert and store his power inside a canister, which was an unexpected bonus and a huge victory, and it earned him Tier 3 status. These efforts thinned the fog for a solid month, causing monsters to be weakened and their healing to be sluggish. At the end of April, after Beat returned from his two-week entrapment and Fog torment in Lager Woods, Joshua's Nephilim fury was triggered; in retribution, he took Neku along to set fire to a swath of Her forest, getting in a bonus conversation on the way about Neku possibly joining Elias's side. In the beginning half of May, after finding out that Atem had broken into the Arcade and busted up a good amount of their stored fog, Joshua came to check in on Elias and vowed to collect more fog in preparation for enacting his plan as soon as was safely possible, as well as offering his services as backup should Elias be directly attacked again. He also spoke to Nanami during the June intro, openly sympathizing with Elias in an effort to curb any more uninformed dislike.

While Joshua's plan to open up a portal to Shibuya ended up failing, the culmination of his efforts to aid Elias still resulted in temporarily altering the state of the entire peninsula, isolating and weakening those affected, and placing his own life and the lives of others in severe danger.

Joshua does not like the Fog. He understands why some may choose to follow her, and he is willing to work with the more reasonable of her followers, but her irresponsible behavior and selfish grudges have caused far more trouble than good. If defeating her is the only way out of Ryslig for those that want out, so be it. During the course of his stay, he will continue to make every effort to sabotage her, as well as any of her followers that actively make life worse for the other monsters here. So long as the Fog remains in unchecked power and her more fanatical followers continue to make humans feel threatened by monsters, there will be no bridging the gap or balancing the scales.

Reward Tier: Priest
Reward Description:
Alternative Priest Ability: The ability to travel along Ryslig's electrical grid. Similar to radio static teleportation, Joshua can enter and exit the electrical grid via any outlet presently receiving a current, remaining on it for as long as is necessary. Unlike radio teleportation, however, this also allows him to possess electronics/appliances that are currently connected to an outlet. Possession of the item is strictly in the sense of his energy being physically stored inside the item, but in combination with his Tier 1 ability, this also means he can manipulate its general functions as well as the functions of electronics in the same room. If the item he's possessing has a camera or some sort of broadcasting surface (movie projectors, TV screens, etc) he can utilize this to view what is going on in that surface's visible range, and if the item has speakers, he can listen in instead; it's sort of a remote-but-not-remote surveillance. This will obviously be placed on his opt-out post, and I will also check in with other players to make sure it's okay before using it in a thread if the opportunity arises! Also, this power comes with its own failsafe - if the item he's possessing is unplugged before he's able to make a quick escape back into the outlet, he will be trapped inside of it until it can be plugged in again. Likewise, if the electrical grid fails while he is on it, he could be in deep trouble.

• Ability to access the network at will without the use of a laptop.

• A marking on the back of his right hand, in the shape of the seal of Shibuya. Similar to the Tier 1 circuitry lines on his left wrist, it glows purple in the presence of other Fourth followers.

A few days after the suddenly changing of the monster population, things begin to calm down. It is in that calm that Atem will witness an explosion of fog much like when he destroyed the cannisters in Haftesal. It is a sudden blast, and while it does not injure Atem, it will momentarily blind him until he's in what looks to be Dyster.

A crowd of translucent people surrounds him, but in the center, standing just a few feet away, is a woman with long, long hair and a gown, the bottom of which is cloaked in a misty fog. She greets Atem with a warm smile, but there is the faintest bit of mischief in that gaze.

"My child, you have been utterly devoted to me since you first decided to follow me." Her voice is soft and velvety, but commanding all the same.

The crowd murmurs to themselves, but they immediately go silent upon a more humanoid Fog God raising one arm.

"With you, ah... The Fog has never looked more powerful to the peninsula!" She approaches Atem and clasps his hand, providing a comforting warmth. The crowd begins to cheer in approval, chanting the name of their newest priest as the Fog God wraps her arms around him, touching the back of his neck.

As she pulls away, Atem will find the weight of a silver cape upon him.

"My child, as I'm sure you have found out, this peninsula is all we have left. The rest of the world is gone," she explains. The crowd disappears as the Fog God produces an image of the world, barren and empty.

"The humans have destroyed it. And he plans to destroy the rest." There is an obvious bitterness in her tone.

"But you have embraced this world, you have embraced me... And your friends will always remain protected with you at the helm."

The Fog God touches his shoulder. "Go forth, my newest priest, and lead my people with your ingenuity and wit."

In the blink of an eye, Atem is back where he was before. No fog or its god, no crowd. But his cape certainly remains, and with it his new power.

Character Name: Neku Sakuraba
Alignment: 4th
Offering Description: Pledge of Service
Link: Here.
Reward Tier: 1
Reward Description:

Small Spell: Neku gains a "Soul Sense" of sorts. Not only can he tell if someone has a soul at all (such as if they have been feed on by a soul eating monster) or if it is damaged in anyway, but also get an idea of their current emotional state. Once he's sensed their soul he can subtly influence their emotions, though the more extreme the change the more likely it will fail or even be noticed by the target.

Aesthetic Change: Parts of Neku's body will gain a chrome-like metallic sheen, though they gain no defense or increased cutting ability- it's all for looks.
