At some time within a few days of Touya's recruitment, whenever he is next aside at night - fog will start to blot out the sky. It's localized, no more than half a street in radius, but will compell Touya to return toward the center if he tries to exit it. It's filled with whispers, almost as if there are several other people hidden within...

A voice emerges from them, clearer, moments later. "You bring more of my pets to me, my child. You have done well for me, and such an effort merits honour for you in return."

An appendage, seemingly made of fog, will emerge to place a hand upon Touya's head. Touya will feel a deep pain, all the way through his body but focused most of all in his teeth, forehead, and legs; it cuts off at the same moment a chunk of moonrock rips free from his head, settling in the form of a helmet. With it will come the rest of his new abilities.

The helmet will crumble away as the mist and whispers fade, but will return with every subsequent fog.
