It's a slow, quiet day at the labs when the fog begins to creep in, slowly but surely filling the room of Noa's office as he taps away at work. He may not notice until the temperature suddenly plummets dramatically, and then a wave a mist engulfs the entire room. Should any of the staff walk by though, all they will see is a little monster feline quietly sitting in his seat...
As for Noa, the tips of his whiskers and hair suddenly frost over, a sharp stabbing pain of bitter cold shooting through his body. But just as quickly as the sensation seizes him, the numbing cold suddenly eases into a refreshing, soothing presence. The fog begins to drift over the manticore, stroking his head, and eventually it's more than just a feeling. Should Noa look up, he'll find himself in the embrace of a woman, the avatar of the Fog God herself. She smiles down at the small monster with a gentle gaze, continuing to pet his head.
And they aren't alone. Shadows begin to form in the surrounding fog, first distant figures, and then others moving in closer, curious, but never breaching the barrier. Some gasp, others nod approvingly, clapping. Their own whispers and commentary begin to sound through the area--He's brilliant! Impressive! What else can he find?
However their voices soon quiet when the Fog God herself speaks up.
"Oh, little one," she begins, the many whispers of her voice coo at his ears. "You've worked so hard, all this time. Your devotion to me and your fellow disciples has been impeccable. And such a good little pet should be rewarded, no?"
She ceases her petting for but a moment, reaching out towards Noa's laptop, which now is iced over. "You were so kind to share your findings with me. It is only fair, that I return the favor."
She taps at the laptop, and it immediately shatters. Where it once sat, the world seemingly splits open, and Noa receives a bird's eye view of the world beyond the borders of the peninsula. It's a vast land, with rolling hills, and massive mountain ranges, and it's almost impossible to tell how far it goes. It'd be beautiful. . .if not for the fact that it's all a barren wasteland. Fog sweeps across the gray, cracking earth, and mist sadly pools into dry ditches where lakes should be.
The Fog God speaks with a hiss. "It did not always look this way, pet. Those miserable humans. . .yes, they were this world's downfall." She sneers, waving her hand, and cutting off the vision. But her wrath stills, and she looks to Noa once more with a loving smile.
"Ah, but knowing that truth is not enough for someone like you, is it, child? You've done so much, always learning, always searching. I wonder how much more could you discover with power...my Curious Priest."
Mist trails over Noa's shoulders and down his back. Another sudden chill, and Noa will find himself covered with a Priest's cloak. Well, somewhat. It looks a bit more like a Cat sweater with a little hoodie, but, y'know, she tried. In any case, the Fog God gifts him with one more amused little smile, and taps at his nose, leaving a mark of frost.
And just like that, the fog suddenly lifts and disappears, leaving Noa alone in his office once more. His laptop is back as well, completely undamaged.
