MANA REWARDS (DEFUNCT)

THIS PAGE IS NO LONGER IN USE! PLEASE USE THE NEW MANA REWARDS PAGE FOR ANY PURCHASES
Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.
Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Lower purchases may receive pre-written quests unless you opt out of them, and you are also free to write your own.
Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.
DISCOUNTS
Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:ITEMS
This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.
10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.WEAPONS
As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.
20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.PETS/CREATURES
Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.
20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY
20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT
20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).POWERS/ABILITIES
60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.BUILDINGS
20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue). This will be added to Player Locations.
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.
20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM
When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.
Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting.

Request: Anti-Follower Zone, as discussed in Reward Cost link
Backfire? N/A
Quest? Yes, quest
(frozen comment) APPROVED
Mana will seem initially hesitant and unsure, but will eventually tell Rin to bring her five things: a feather from someone who isn't a harpy, a vialful of shade's blood, a sliver of bone from a lich, a carton of a dozen eggs, and a flower from the place he wishes to have protected. If no flowers grow there, he may plant one in the ground overnight and then it will qualify; if he already has a building in mind, he may keep it in a pot there overnight instead.
Mana will take four eggs and the remainder of these objects once he has brought them; she will return with a stone bowl of yolk-yellow liquid that smells faintly of whatever flower he brought. She will tell him to circle the perimeter of the area he wants protected, pouring a thin stream of it on the ground - he must make sure to close the loop before the the liquid runs out.
When Rin does this and closes the loop, the area within will go grayscale and quiet - it will somehow seem incomplete. At this point it will not yet have the anti-follower effect. If and when Rin returns to Mana to ask about this, she will pause in thought for a time and ask him to bring her samples of dirt from inside and outside the zone. She will then take two more eggs and vanish.
This time she will return with a fragile dried-mud sculpture of Rin's bird form. She will tell him to go to the very center of the zone and throw it at the ground. When Rin does this, rather than shattering, it will vanish with a cracking noise as soon as any point of it touches; the grayscale and silence will vanish and the anti-follower effect will activate, as well as a momentarily feeling of completeness. (At this point, if Rin has not chosen an existing building and you so wish, you may have a mundane 5-bedroom-sized building materialize around Rin. Otherwise the zone will simply occupy an equivalent perimeter.)
Mana will keep the remaining half-dozen eggs.

Request: Espurr will request her ability in Telepathy back, politely explaining it as best she's able. Fortunately for her, Mana can parse it out! Unfortunately...
Backfire? ...60 coins wasn't quite enough to restore it at full power, so Mana will tell her to come back when she's come upon the same number of coins in order to give it a proper boost. It won't be nearly the radius she's used to even then, but it's something!
Quest? NAH Mana can just give her some juice or something.

Request: Stocke's back for something anti-god again!
For the item itself, I don't mind what it is as long as it's got a ~spooky~ aesthetic. Maybe something wearable like a short cloak? But not necessarily.
For the magical effect, I'd like to propose a variation on Rin's anti-god-follower effect! (Was I planning to ask for this before Rin mentioned it... maybe)
First, rather than straight-up nullifying follower abilities, it will "interfere" with them. It might nullify abilities, or it might turn abilities on their owners, or it might cut their effectiveness in half... or maybe even only slightly stunt their effectiveness, and functionally be basically useless. ICly, this effect is random for each god follower and even each encounter with them - it might be very useful in one encounter, and useless in another. OOCly, the effect is up to the god follower's player!
Second, by default it would have the very limited range mentioned in Rin's answer - something like 3 feet from Stocke in radius. However, given certain penalties for Stocke, it could temporarily expand its range up to... whatever radius you feel is appropriate! This would be a replacement for needing to charge.
What penalties? Basically, Stocke may choose to "sacrifice" certain senses and capabilities to expand the radius. Sacrificing his sense of taste would offer a minimal effect - maybe adding like a foot; he can sacrifice his sense of smell for a slightly larger one; sacrificing his ability to talk will expand the radius to half of whatever the maximum is; sacrificing either sight or hearing will expand the radius to the maximum.
The radius's expansion will persist only for as long as he keeps this "sacrifice" active. Furthermore, to prevent him from just flickering it on and off, his sacrifice will last for at least an hour after he decides to stop extending the radius and returns it to ~3 feet.
He may only sacrifice one thing at a time - rather, he may choose to sacrifice more, but they will not stack. The magical radius will be based only on the "highest value" thing he sacrificed. (So if he sacrificed both the ability to speak and his sight, the radius would act as for a just-sight sacrifice.)
If this magical effect isn't workable, I'm a-okay with any other anti-god effect you guys come up with! Hit me. :3c
My only request in that case would be to keep the same penalties and have the item function weakly by default, and strongly with a "sacrifice" active.
Backfire? N/A
Quest? Own quest!
Mana will give him the item without the magic, as well as a bag of crystals. To imbue the item with magical power, Stocke will need to find out, from at least two characters he does not know, about a relationship they had with someone from home. He must whisper what they tell him to the crystals on a night with no fog - one per crystal. After this he must cut his palm open; as soon as his blood/smoke touches the crystals, they will crumble to rock dust. He will have to cover the item in this rock dust and leave it outside in sunlight for one full day. By nightfall the rock dust will have dissolved and the item will have its magical properties.
He can keep the leftover crystals but they're neither valuable nor useful. They just look pretty.
i warned you guys you'd hate it

While he is wearing it the cloak will interfere with god follower abilities within a radius of three feet. It may nullify, turn the ability back on its owner, or halve the effectiveness depending on the choice of the follower's player. If desired it may only take a minor toll on the power. In these cases god abilities will still be able to function almost fully effectively within the parameters of the cloak's power.
If he wishes to increase the radius of the cloak's effect he may sacrifice one of his senses in order to do so. Major senses will allow for a bigger increase than a smaller one, but he cannot stack them. The radius will always be the equivalent of the biggest sacrifice. This will last for as long as he chooses to keep the sacrifice going, but he will continue missing the sense that he sacrificed for an hour after he deactivates it and he will not be able to sacrifice it again until after that time.
The radius of each sacrifice will be as follows:
Sight = 30ft
Hearing/speech = 20
Touch = 10ft
Smell = 8ft
Taste = 5ft

Reward Cost: 80 Coin 'Magical Location' add-on, As discussed

Request: After Rin erects the Anti-Follower Zone, Tsukikage will ask Mana if there is any way to magically summon or station guards there on a 24 hour basis that are completely loyal to that area. He'll express his concerns of followers sneaking in and acting as moles against the neutral alliance, and he'll want to be able to detect them and keep them out.
Backfire?: We've already discussed that the blood babies aren't going to be able to detect alliances. Nothing else please, besides the fact, he's gonna be really hungry after performing the quest.
Quest?: Yes. Preferably something that vaguely ties into Blood Magic? (Even if it's just handwaved like how Mana did said "'It is an ancient magic in Ryslig, now seldomly used". If it can be a dangerous ritual or something.)
cut him open mods. how artsy/horrific can we make this?(frozen comment) no subject
Tsukikage will need to collect ten vials of blood. Half of them must be full of his blood; the other half must be from 5 different people, each of a distinct monster type without duplicates. Mana will tell him he needs to lightly cut the tips of each of his fingertips; he will have to squeeze two drops of his own blood into each of the five vials of blood that aren't his, without reusing fingers for more than a single drop.
Mana will also give him a small satchel of herbs - they do not resemble any from Ryslig, or any Tsukikage would recognize. He must crush the flowers and mix in powder in each of the vials, then leave them out in sunlight for a day. It is very important, Mana will warn, that nobody looks upon the vials after sunrise, including Tsukikage himself.
When he returns after nightfall, the vials will be half-emptied of blood, but there is a tiny iron sphere clinking around in the remainder of each vial. Mana will tell Tsukikage to mix the remaining vials together in any receptacle made of specifically iron, then water the ground around the area he wishes to protect. He must then carry the small iron spheres soaked in his own blood for another day - it's up to him whether he thinks to fill a vial with yet more of his blood, insert the spheres, and carry it with him, whether he thinks to cut himself open and carry the spheres inside his own body, or any other method.
Finally, he must bury the iron spheres where he spilled the mixed blood.
As soon as he pats the ground flat ten bloody guardians will ooze out of the ground; they will not be controllable by Tsukikage, and will instead be linked and loyal to the area. They will attempt to throw out anyone causing trouble within; while they can be destroyed by forcing them to fully leave the area or by keeping a small portion of them away from the rest, they will eventually reform.

Unfortunately, mixing monster types as a backfire is not possible, but we have written him a quest:
Mana will give Haru an empty glass jar, a candle, and a blank scrap of paper. She will tell him to place the paper in the jar and add a small amount of ink each day. The ink will always be absorbed within a short amount of time, but so long as he remembers to add more the next day the spell will work.
By the next new moon writing will have appeared on the scrap of paper. The language is unidentifiable, but Mana will have already warned him of this and assured him he will not need to read it. When the writing appears he should take this, the jar, and the candle to a place he won't be disturbed. He will need to light the candle, then burn the paper in its flame. Once this is done, his transformation will take place!
