MANA REWARDS

Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.
Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Feel free to write your own quests for lower-cost purchases if you'd like to give your character something fun to do.
Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.
(Please note: the Mana Rewards received a major overhaul and fresh page in November 2023. We've kept the old Mana Rewards page on record, so you can review your character's past purchases! However, please keep in mind that mod answers to questions there will likely be outdated! The FAQ compilation on this page will always be leading.)
DISCOUNTS
Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:ITEMS
This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.
10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.WEAPONS
As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.
20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.PETS/CREATURES
Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.
20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
40 - Change to a different monster form for two months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT
20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).POWERS/ABILITIES
60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.BUILDINGS
20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue).
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.
20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM
When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.
Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting. When submitting your form, please be sure to reply to the current month's header, as opposed to posting an entirely new comment.

(frozen comment) FAQ (PURCHASE MECHANICS)
BASIC PURCHASE MECHANICS
Do I have to buy This through Mana?
First of all, we'd like to encourage every player to keep in mind that many things can either be bought with solars (the local currency) or outright stolen. Do you want your monster to have a nice house? They can simply move into a nice house they came across which happened to be abandoned. Normal pets, normal weapons, extra furniture, a typical car, a typical motorcycle… These things can all be found on the peninsula. Expansions to a building can also just be bought through local contractors, unless you want something very specific added, or have the expansion appear immediately.
Please use Mana only for things which could not be obtained on the peninsula normally. This includes purchases involving magic, monster changes or abilities, or extremely specific objects, pets or locations brought in from home.
Who is Mana? Can my character have conversations with her? Can this be threaded out?
Mana (short for Manananggal) is a bat-like entity sometimes known as the coin witch! Stories of her origin will conflict depending on who you ask, but one thing is for certain: she is a friend of monsters. Commonly, she'll appear as a heavily clothed creature. Her true form, beneath the shrouds and hoods, is of a beautiful young woman twisted with bat features. She cannot be harmed by monster attacks, and will not hold grudges against anyone who attempts this (unless you want her to). Mana may be summoned by your character once a month.
If you would like your character to have extensive conversations with her, this is allowed! However, we will not thread these conversations out. Please handwave these. If you'd like to know more about the sort of person she is, here's some guidelines: Though generally quite benevolent, she has a bit of a mischievous streak at times. She may not always give the same answer to any personal questions you ask her about herself. Since Mana is adjusting to her new job, she's not perfect with her magic. There are instances in which her magic may backfire, or she'll misinterpret someone's request, but it's never out of malice or with the intent to hurt someone.
Wait, where do the coins come from? What does Mana do with them?
Where the coins come from is a mystery; Mana herself doesn't know either. She simply takes them off your character's hands, as is the custom. Her predecessor, Tikbalang, once did the same and she follows in his footsteps.
Can Mana coins be stolen, or gifted to another character?
No, Mana coins cannot be gifted, nor stolen. Any attempts to do so will cause the coins to reappear back in their original/rightful owner's possessions. This also means a character cannot steal coins to use them on Mana purchases.
Can I buy gifts for my CR?
Yes, as long as the gift costs 30 coins or less, and they must be physical objects. We may intervene if we notice this being abused.
Can I gift my Mana rewards to other characters after I drop?
Yes! Upon dropping, even things that were originally over 30 coins may be gifted. However, whatever is being gifted must be physical - no powers or monster changes, but pets, locations and items are fine. The passing-on of a purchase does not need to be officially noted anywhere and can be agreed upon behind the scenes.
Gifting purchases upon dropping is entirely player choice; unless a player deliberately specifies they are leaving their character's pets/items to someone else, everything will disappear from Ryslig. Locations are an exception. They will remain in Ryslig, retain any magical properties and may be used by anyone up until the next player location sweep.
Can we pool coins for a shared reward?
Yes! This must be for an item or building that everyone in the pool will be using, magical or otherwise. We do not allow the pooling of coins for powers, body modifications or pets. All characters who wish to contribute coins are subjected to a minimum buy-in of 10 coins, and must reply to the initial purchase request to confirm they've given permission for their coins to be used. It's not necessary for each character to contribute the same amount of coins. Exceptions to the minimum buy-in of 10 coins may be made, but only in discussion with the mod team.
Chip-ins must be done ICly, but could be achieved through a backfire if your character doesn't have CR with the one leading the purchase, or wouldn't contribute for any other reason. The one leading the purchase would have to make a note of this when submitting their request, with the ones chipping in through backfire submitting their own comments.
How do backfires relate to pricing? Say my character asks for one thing, but it backfires and they receive something in a different price range, what do I pay?
The cost of a Mana reward corresponds to the thing/power/etc. the character actually receives. Therefore, the backfire effect is what determines the price you pay.
Can there be a delay between submitting a purchase and receiving it?
Yes. If you'd like to buy something in August and not have it kick in/be delivered until September, this is allowed. However, please do this within reason. Backdating (e.g. buying in September and having it kick in the previous month) is not allowed.
I've purchased an 80 coin (or higher) reward. Do I have to do a quest?
No. Quests are entirely optional to give the player something additional to do in-game. You're free to handwave that the character did something special to help Mana focus her magic.
I've made more than one purchase this month, with the total being 80 (or more) coins. Can I have a quest?
This would be fine, just make sure to consolidate your purchases into one ask to receive a quest.
If I drop my character and re-app them later, will they still have their Mana rewards?
This depends! Permanent monster changes (monster type change, alternative feeding source, body mods, etc.) may be kept. Abilities can be kept as well! If items and/or pets were passed on to another character upon dropping, those could be regained again in agreement with said character. If you had a player location, it can be moved into again, provided it hasn't been swept from the Player Location page yet (we sweep unclaimed locations every year or two).
SPECIFIC PURCHASE MECHANICS
What do you mean by summon/power tied to a summon?
Pets like Pokémon are pretty straightforward -- they're cuddly creatures that can spew fire or throw leaves or what have you. Things like Stands and Personas are a little more nebulous; they're powers that their owners always have access to, but aren't really standalone, separate pets the way Pokémon are. We determined they could be purchased one of two ways:
As a pet: Stands/Personas/Other purchased as a pet are either completely depowered or have powers that will not work on monsters. They can be treated as autonomous.
As a power: Stands/Personas/Other purchased as a power do not exist unless the power is being used. When a character calls on their power, the Stand/Persona/Other appears, uses that power, and then disappears. They are not separate from their user, nor are they autonomous -- they cannot act on their own accord without the user to call on them.
Players may not purchase both. If you purchase your Stand/Persona/Other as a pet, you cannot also buy it as a power.
My summon has all these very specific aspects in canon-
These will be treated on a case-by-case basis. For example, Stands are normally invisible to all but other Stand users, and additionally they can only be damaged by other Stands, and some can be bound to objects. Here in Ryslig, a Stand would not come with any of these abilities by default, and they would not be purchasable in the future, to avoid overpowering them.
What counts as a power/ability for pets/summons?
Offensive or environment-changing abilities like elemental attacks (fire-breathing, water cannons, Razor Leaf, etc.) count as abilities that take up a pet's single ability slot. Please note that pet abilities do not work when used directly on a monster! Aesthetic qualities that have no tangible effect and cannot be used to affect the environment in a way that harms or inconveniences monsters do not count. When in doubt, ask below!
Can my pet have babies?
Any pet who's been brought into the game by Mana will effectively be sterile. However, the ability for it to have offspring can be bought as the pet's single ability. Pets may have a maximum of six babies a year, either through litters or through single eggs, depending on which scenario applies. This offspring will be sterile and powerless by default. If the offspring is adopted by another player, that player can then pay Mana to give it an ability, assuming they don't already have another pet with an ability.
Do weapon sets count as a single purchase, or would I have to pay for each weapon in the set? (e.g. would a set of four throwing knives cost 80 coins instead of 20?)
We intend to judge rewards such as weapon sets on a case by case basis. Please ask the mods if you aren't certain!
What about chargers for electrical devices? And devices that need to be hooked up to a TV, like a DVD player? How does electricity work?
Electronic devices brought in from home will come with whatever cord they require in canon and a plug converter, and can be plugged into any outlet in Ryslig with frying them. Remember, Ryslig's technology and living standards are somewhere between the 1950s and 1980's, so buildings are wired and have outlets for characters to use. Similarly, if you buy a next-gen console like a PS5, it will come with a converter to hook it up to your character's 1980s TV. (picture quality may be lousy.)
Buildings purchased with coins will come with electricity, regardless of how far from civilization they are. If you would rather your building not have this, you may indicate that in your request.
About the 60 coin magical item from Ryslig… When it says that mods will design the item, does this mean just the overall make/appearance of the item, or the actual item itself?
Players are welcome to design the item for their characters! If you already have an idea of what you'd like the item's ability to be or a general aesthetic, the mods' role will be to finish and flesh out the remaining parts (assuming the ability/aesthetic is approved).
Does the city option have to come with a statue of the character or could it be something else?
The city must come with a statue. It doesn't need to be a statue of your character, but it must be a statue. Mana feels very strongly about this.
Does the city option come with people?
Mana cannot create life on a large scale, so purchased towns and cities will be uninhabited. Mana can, however, snatch up a few NPCs (numbers within reason!) and brainwash them to make them believe they've always lived there. Otherwise, NPCs might migrate there on their own accord, if they have reason to believe their life might be better in this player-owned city.
My player location was destroyed. Do I need to pay to get it back? If so, how much?
If this location was destroyed with your consent, asking Mana to bring it back with her magic will always cost full price. If it was destroyed due to some sort of event with incredible setting impact, please contact the mods for more specifics.
When I buy a temp change, does it have to last the full duration of time?
It does not! For example, if you'd rather spend two or three weeks as a different monster type, that's allowed. You will still have to pay for a full month, though.
One month of temp monster change costs 20 coins, and four months of this costs 60. What if I only want three months of a temp monster change?
This would also cost 60 coins, as a set of three one-month purchases. It's also possible to buy the option of four months, and end it early.
About turning human for a month, or gaining the ability to switch back and forth…
This is a very flexible option! For example, while monster powers are all stripped away, it's up to you whether the character in human form still has monster weaknesses. And it's up to you whether this human form reflects the character's current age, or the age they had when they first appeared in Ryslig.
When buying the ability to switch back and forth, it's also up to you whether the spell is at will or will require certain conditions that you set. Either way, it will take a full 24 hours before the spell is usable again. If your character is an undead monster, the switch back to monster form will be a 'freebie death' which won't count for the memory loss tally. This can be as painful or painless as you would like.
Please note, human form means human form. If your character was a different species before coming to Ryslig, they will not revert to that species instead.
Can psych changes from temp monster changes carry back over into the character's usual monster form? Or can they retain psych changes from their original monster form when they change into something else?
In general, changes cannot be transferred over from a swap. However, because psychology is quite murky, you are free to have your character continue acting in accordance with the previous monster's psychology out of habit or because they remember a particular mental change feeling good.
I purchased a permanent body mod, but does it carry over into other monster types? And what about carrying over into Fog forms, or Travel/Stealth forms?
We consider these mods a reward that a player earned, and because of this, we offer a lot of flexibility. This means the mod can carry over, if you want! Say your character was a Vampire, and you purchased a bushy tail for them. Now you're changing them to Werewolf, which comes with a tail included. Your character may have two tails instead of one! This counts for both temporary monster type swaps and permanent ones. Furthermore, they can also carry over into Fog forms or Travel/Stealth forms. You don't have to keep the mod in this other form if you don't want to, though.
When buying a secondary feeding method, does it have to come with a body mod to help accommodate this method?
Not at all. If you want to make things more difficult for your character by not giving them sharp teeth to help with blood feeding, that's up to you!
(frozen comment) FAQ (CAN I BUY THIS?)
WHAT (ELSE) CAN I BUY?
Can I buy a real world piece of media, which would contain appable characters? (e.g. the Star Wars movies)
No. Mana will bring in an off-brand version of this canon. Instead of Stargate, you receive Starhole. Instead of the Twilight books, you receive the Sundown books, etc.
Can I buy something belonging to another character, or from another character's canon?
Yes, but with limitations! Anything that would reveal private information about the character it belongs to would not be purchasable without that information redacted. Diaries, computers, etc... belonging to another character would contain no personal information if bought by someone else (except as a gift, in which case the item would go directly to the recipient). If a character were to buy the house of their mentor who has a secret penchant for murder, the bodies they stash in the basement would not come with the house if they did not already know of their existence. Similarly, buildings with secret rooms will not come with those if they were not already aware of them prior to purchase. While this is non-negotiable in cases where only one character is in game, exceptions can be made for cases where both characters are currently in game with the permission of all players involved.
What if I want to buy something that a character in game has already bought through Mana previously?
This doesn't matter! Anything from home bought through Mana is technically a duplicate. That said, when buying items belonging to a character currently in game the permission of that player must be sought first. This applies to both gifts and items belonging to others purchased for your own character.
Would it be possible to pay Mana to add an enchantment or power to an existing item, mundane or otherwise?
Yes. To enchant an existing item, you would have to pay the difference in coins. To clarify, an item purchased from Mana for 20 coins could be upgraded to having a single magical effect for an additional 40, and so on. For a completely mundane item obtained in Ryslig without coins (say, a frying pan) you would need to pay the full price, as the "base price" is 0.
On occasion, there will be instances where a character may receive 'an item worth 10 coins'. For example, as a gift in our December event. Despite the hypothetical worth of 10 coins, these items will also have the base price of 0 when upgrading them with an enchantment.
Can I buy a one-use-only item from Mana?
Mana normally doesn't deal in one-use magic items. She mostly sells the sort of objects that will stick around afterwards, retaining their magic. If you're certain you'd like a one-use item, please contact the mods and ask whether this can be worked into a small event, such as an arrival log, change log or player plot. This will not cost you any coins, but will require you to write a significant portion (if not all) of the IC and OOC portions of this event.
Would it be possible to buy a magical item that could weaken the influence of god power in a given area? (e.g. disabling god boons)
Yes, this is something Mana can create, with limitations. We're very flexible and willing to work with you on this. For example, As a 60-coin item, it would either have an incredibly limited range (think a moderately large personal space bubble, something like 4-5 feet) or (for a larger range) would have to be subject to recharge times. It would also not be able to stay active without the "owner" nearby, to avoid it being used by other characters.
Can I buy (super advanced) technology from my character's canon?
Yes, but beware. We differentiate between mundane present day technology and the advanced type. A smartphone counts as a mundane item and is only 10 coins. A character's canon laptop with all the files on it is 20 coins. Neither of these will be able to connect to any networks, so the smartphone can't make any calls, and the canon laptop won't connect to any wifi or the typical Ryslig communication network.
If you wish to bring in something more advanced like an AI, or a laboratory outfitted with extremely advanced tech, it counts as 'magical' for the purposes of calculating the price. These sorts of things are judged on a case by case basis, and may require further limitations to keep the setting balanced.
Can I buy a billion solars? A magic checkbook that always pays out the amount? Limitless diamonds?
No, sorry. Mana will never agree to deals which could, hypothetically, break Ryslig's economy.
Do we need to buy ammo for weapons?
Like many of the everyday living components in Ryslig, you can handwave making or purchasing ammo for your weapon. Weapons with unusual or hard-to-find ammo will be discussed at the time of purchase; in many cases, it's fine to just "have" ammo at all times. The same rule applies to things like, for example, film for a polaroid camera.
Can Mana bring in pets which have passed away in canon?
Sadly, Mana is unable to bring the dead back to life. She can, however, bring the animal in from a point in time before it died.
Mana can bring in Pokémon, can she also bring in Digimon? Where is the limit for a pet's intelligence/personality?
Pets summoned by Mana will, as a rule, behave like animals. Intelligence and a sense of identity greater than, say, the smarter and more independent dog breeds is not permitted. This means that any creature smarter than that, who could basically be considered an appable character, cannot be brought into the world of Ryslig by Mana. As an example, Digimon have such a high level of sapience (and often even their own character development arcs), they would be considered appable characters and thus cannot be bought. The same applies to specific high-intelligence Pokémon with defined personalities, such as Mewtwo, Team Rocket's Meowth, Mystery Dungeon Pokémon, etc.
Can I buy a 'pet' which did not belong to the character in canon?
Yes. As long as the requested creature is within the size & spell limits, and could not be reasonably considered appable, any creature from your character's home world is permitted.
If a character were to buy a pet that required a tank (like a tarantula or a fish), would it cost extra to get the tank and accessories that they need?
Yes, that would cost extra. However, unless you're looking at extremely modern or futuristic technology, these sorts of accessories can be bought in local pet stores with solars.
Can we buy a custom/magic pet which originates from Ryslig? Would it have to be mod-designed?
Yes, you can spend coins on a Ryslig-originated custom pet. You can design it yourself, following the power and coin stipulations in place for pets that originate out of game. Once you have designed it, mods will have to approve it. The price is determined on a case-by-case basis, but usually, when it has no real abilities it will depend on the pet's size.
Can Mana move my player location elsewhere on the peninsula?
This will be judged on a case by case basis.
Can Mana enchant a location which doesn't belong to my character?
No. Your character can contribute to a group purchase enchantment, but the current owner of the location must be involved as well. Mana will not enchant any non-player locations (Bavan, Plaga's Peak, Lake Dala, etc.).
Can I buy an island? What will happen?
If you decide to bring in a canon island, or ask Mana to create something custom for you, you have two options. Either it's dropped somewhere along Ryslig's coast in the ocean, or a small body of water is created on the mainland to hold this island. The amount of water surrounding it will be closer to a moat than a full lake.
Can I buy [insert magic ability here]?
Mana's powers are very versatile. She can grant characters defensive, offensive and even more personal spells. These do not need to come from a character's canon; you're free to invent your own magic spells! If you're unsure whether the ability you're hoping for is something Mana can grant, please ask us in the Questions thread and provide as much detail as possible. Keep in mind, we will not design spells for you. You must tell us exactly what it is that you want.
Can I buy a magical ability which manifests inside another character, or otherwise specifically affects/punishes another character?
Unfortunately, even with OOC permission from the other player, Mana will not use her magic to directly give another character something against their will. With that logic, characters could easily purchase punishments for others. However, a character could purchase a spell to cast that causes the desired effect on the other person, or a magic item that they could use for this.
Can I buy a 'blanket power' with several uses, like for example, the Force? Mana-fueled magic? Alchemy? Element bending? Or a wand which is capable of casting any magic spell?
No. Something like the Force, alchemy or mana doesn't exist in Ryslig as a force to tap into. Furthermore, due to the nature of these sorts of overarching powers, we believe that it goes beyond what we're willing to allow as a regain. However, this is always judged on a case by case basis, so please ask us beforehand if you aren't sure whether this ability encompasses too much.
In cases where it's impossible to bring the powering force itself into Ryslig, it's instead possible to mimic these sorts of powers by asking Mana for comparable spells/abilities. In order to avoid power-gaming, we would need to break these requests down into several distinct powers. For example, moving objects would be one ability, while making something explode would be another. In the case of waterbending, manipulating water would be separate from healing with it. Each of these powers would be priced accordingly. A wand when purchased as a magical item would only come with one spell, with any others needing to be purchased separately, for a limit of four spells total.
Can I buy an upgrade to an ability I purchased earlier?
Yes. If you bought a minor ability for 60 coins, then later wish to upgrade it to a major spell (fewer- or no- limitations, wider use, more 'oomph'), you would pay the remaining 60 coins in order to get that. Please discuss the details of this upgrade with the mod team beforehand!
Can Mana make it so that monster powers are less 'taxing' on my character, so that they won't get hungry as fast when they use them?
No, that's not a power Mana can grant. You might have more luck with high tier god boons.
Can I buy precognitive powers for my character? (fortunetelling, etc.)
No. We feel that the malleable nature of journal RP makes precognitive powers difficult to make work in a way that is neither infomod-y, nor so unpredictable/vague that it's not worth having the power. It is, however, possible to purchase an ability to tell what's going on in the present, elsewhere on the peninsula. This would cost 60 coins, either as a minor spell with usage limitations, or an enchantment on an object.
Mana can swap weaknesses out for others (80 coins), but can she remove them entirely, if only on a temporary basis?
No, weaknesses cannot be completely neutralized, not even temporarily. They can be temporarily swapped for other weaknesses at a discounted price. The cost would be the same as if it were a temporary monster change: 20 coins for 1 month or 60 coins for 4.
Mana is capable of making modifications to a character's appearance, but can she also remove certain (mandatory) physical traits?
Mana can't remove a monstrous trait altogether, or replace it with a human equivalent. However, she'd be able to switch it for another, equally monstrous trait. E.g. a Naphil's tail might be replaced by another set of horns, or scales elsewhere on the body. Or pointed ears might be replaced by a reptile's tympanum. Pricing may be either 20 coins or 60, depending on whether the 'function' of the trait is on the same level or not. For example, trading the pointed shape of ears for scales would cost 20 coins, but trading that for functional wings or a prehensile tail would cost 60 coins.
Hang on, I thought she could grant a spell to make wings disappear at will?
Correct. Wings are an exception to the above rule. For 60 coins, Mana can grant characters the ability to have their wings turned into one of two things: Either a fully detailed, visually accurate tattoo of the wings in question, or fully detailed scarring resembling the wings in question. Both of these options would take up most of the character's back and shoulders, as if the wings have been flattened up against their skin. This would count as a body mod in the permanent monster changes category.
And a disguise ability that would allow a character to look human for a certain amount of time?
Yes, Mana can do that too. However, it would be a visual trick only, and touching the monster would reveal the hidden features.
What about hunger or hunting instincts? Can Mana remove or exchange any of that?
No. Hunger is always baked into a monster and the feeling of it (not the hunger itself) can only be suppressed through god boons. Removing hunting instincts or swapping them out with something else isn't something that Mana can do either.
About the permanent monster type change, can we have the mods choose from more than 7 options?
Yes. However, this would still cost you 100 coins.
Can I buy a second monster form, with the ability for my monster to swap between the two?
No, this isn't a power Mana would be able to grant. However, the Fog does have capabilities like this. It would be the 'major spell' that she would grant. Starting with Fog tier 3, it would be possible to access a second monster form under certain conditions, with a priest tier power having less limitations as well as more monster options.
Can I buy a taur-form for my monster? So the lower body would be monstrous, but the upper half human?
Yes! Both as a permanent body mod and as a transformative ability with certain limitations, this would cost 80 coins. Please note some monster types can already transform their body on their own (Slimes, Shades, etc.) and would not need to purchase an additional form to achieve the effect. We would also like to specify that the bottom half of the taur cannot be completely unrelated to the monster type: we would allow a manticore to have four cat legs but not four spider legs, for instance.
Can Mana change my monster's height?
Yes, she can! This would be a body mod. For an increase or decrease in height by 1-6 inches, it would be 20 coins. For an increase or decrease in height by 7-12 inches, it would be 40 coins. For 1-2 feet, it would be 80 coins. For monsters with mandatory height changes, these changes should apply across all forms, barring Travel/Stealth forms (i.e. if a Pooka's Travel form is a rat, it would remain the size of a rat).
(frozen comment) 3-POINT RULE
In essence, the 3-Point Rule may be applied when a character gains the ability to enchant something or someone, which we'll refer to as "setpoints" for the sake of convenience. It may be applied in a variety of requested abilities, such as teleportation destinations, the creation/enchantment of items with a defensive/offensive purpose, telepathic connections with other characters, etc. The ability's effect may be placed upon three (or less) setpoints at the same time. The moment the character attempts to extend this to a fourth setpoint, one of the earlier three must cease to exist. The character may either choose ICly which of the first three is stripped of its powers, or it will be chosen by the player.
For example, say a character gains the ability to create special summoning talismans, allowing them to be summoned by whoever holds one of these talismans, and the 3-Point rule is applied to it. The character may have three of these talismans to distribute to other characters. The moment an attempt is made to create a fourth talisman, one of the first three will disappear.
Please note that the 3-Point Rule works with an honor system. You do not need to keep a record of which three setpoints are in play at any given time, and we expect players to use this limitation as it's intended. If we spot someone who may be breaking the spirit of this rule, we will get in touch with them.

Could you use coins to have your character's sub-species within their monster type changed either temporarily (like a temp change but less potent) or permanently? Once a character has been in game a while and their monster type/design has been fully fleshed out and established, I assume it's not allowed to just change that at will (or at the very least, it wouldn't be kosher to make super drastic design changes after they've been a certain thing for a long time), so I was wondering if it could be changed via a purchase.
So like for example, Adrian is a Manticore who is a Liger, which is the type of big cat he is based on. But what if I wanted to change him to be based on a black panther, or a cheetah, or something else instead? That sort of thing! I'm not actually planning on doing anything permanently, I am more curious about the potential of temporary changes, but I thought I'd ask about both just to see for the future! Sorry this is kindof a weird question, hopefully it makes sense.

Would an arc reactor count as an item from home that fits in Quentin's hand-? I'm completely fine with it being nerfed, like it coming drained/'empty', so to speak. I don't expect it to produce energy either.
At best, I'd be hoping it could potentially store enough power to keep a lantern going from dusk til dawn once he's fiddled with the connections to pull energy from the solar element of the lantern-? Basically, the arc reactor would be an aesthetic high capacity battery so it could hold, hopefully, 12 hours of charge at a time. Quentin would have to play mad
engineerscientist to get it to work with a lantern either way! He wants high-capacity energy storage, and wants the best he knows.Thank you in advance!

A potential power
I would like a power that allows a sort of Midas' touch, and turn things into precious metals/gems/etc, with the caveat that they only REMAIN changed while in his possession/lair/etc to fuel those gargoyle hoarding instincts. If they're given away, traded, stolen, melted down, repurposed etc they revert back to what they were before .. or are destroyed or otherwise nullified as a thing of value, so it can't be abused economically OOCly.

I'm using my extra coins to get Ryou something from home along with another purchase, and the only thing I could think of that fits in the palm of the hand and would be an interesting choice (corroborated by friends because i had to ask to decide lol), would be the Millennium Eye.
My question is: would it be feasible for Mana to summon it not into his hand or nearby, but installed where his still-healing eye is? In this situation since Ryou overpaid her, she'd decide to do him a favor and give him a prosthesis for his nearly-sightless eye to be nice.

So Emmet has been talking about making his own town just for humans/ran by humans with the only caveat of not being a dick about everyone. Monsters can not live in it, but they can visit it. The magical ability I want it to have would be 'Monsters will (knowing or unknowing- so if they are close to frenzy) ill intentions for the humans of said town to not be allowed access' Would that be 140 coins? Other? Any cheaper ways to do it? (ex here is a plot of lands for human use, that has been a-okayed by your local forest deity for use?)
(Humans who would get to live in it would enter them/their families in a lottery, if their name gets drawn them/their immediate family can live there)
Also, because Emmet would not want the humans to know which monster did it, can the statue be changed to something like, idek a fountain?

The ability I am hoping to get for Ermes is to generate stickers from her palm- this was how she first manifested her Stand in the series.
The stickers would not do anything. They'd just be stickers, and she'd be able to generate as many as she wanted. They're all about stamp sized, with little kiss marks on them.
Would this spell be 80 coins though, or 60? And would upgrading to give the stickers their powers in canon be another 80, or less?

Backfire? Mana was only half listening, but happiness stems from wealth, right??? And he wants a pool? What she gives him is a Scrooge McDuck-style money bin that's filled to the brim with solars. Just one huge pool of coins, totaling up to over a million solars, with a diving board in case someone wants to go full Jackass. But the magical catch is that these coins can't leave the building. They will always return back to the pool if someone tries to carry one across the threshold of the building, so they can't ever be spent. The building also comes with one office (lucky number one dime not included) and one plain apartment with bathroom, because that building can't be 100% pool.
