MANA REWARDS

Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.
Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Feel free to write your own quests for lower-cost purchases if you'd like to give your character something fun to do.
Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.
(Please note: the Mana Rewards received a major overhaul and fresh page in November 2023. We've kept the old Mana Rewards page on record, so you can review your character's past purchases! However, please keep in mind that mod answers to questions there will likely be outdated! The FAQ compilation on this page will always be leading.)
DISCOUNTS
Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:ITEMS
This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.
10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.WEAPONS
As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.
20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.PETS/CREATURES
Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.
20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
40 - Change to a different monster form for two months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT
20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).POWERS/ABILITIES
60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.BUILDINGS
20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue).
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.
20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM
When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.
Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting. When submitting your form, please be sure to reply to the current month's header, as opposed to posting an entirely new comment.

Reward Cost: 80 - Magical Building (no bigger than a 5 bedroom house)
Activity:
20 COINS FOR OCTOBER 2023 (left over from previous purchase)
4 COINS FOR DECEMBER 2023 (left over from previous purchase)
19 COINS FOR JANUARY 2024
15 COINS FOR FEBRUARY 2024
16 COINS FOR MARCH 2024
6 COINS FOR APRIL 2024 (leaves 3 coins)
Request: Steven wants a nice new home for himself and his family. He sort of circles around his description with needless hyperbole and rambles, really emphasizing the word "happiness" several times, and all these Mana coins that he has in his hand here, and maybe a pool so they can swim-
Backfire? Mana was only half listening, but happiness stems from wealth, right??? And he wants a pool? What she gives him is a Scrooge McDuck-style money bin that's filled to the brim with solars. Just one huge pool of coins, totaling up to over a million solars, with a diving board in case someone wants to go full Jackass. But the magical catch is that these coins can't leave the building. They will always return back to the pool if someone tries to carry one across the threshold of the building, so they can't ever be spent. The building also comes with one office (lucky number one dime not included) and one plain apartment with bathroom, because that building can't be 100% pool.
Quest? Nay, I'm good.

This is very funny to post after Beginning of the End went up
Reward Cost: Depowered Pet -
2016 with DiscountActivity: 5 COINS FOR APRIL, 4 COINS FOR MAY, 4 COINS FOR JUNE, 3 COINS FOR JULY (13 Remaining)
Request: Technically Emporio makes one request; some help with his fears!
Backfire? Nothing gets a kid to jump in the water faster than a loud screaming bird. Nothing. Emporio receives 'Pet Sounds', a Moluccan Cockatoo from his reality! Fortunately it has no stand. Unfortunately, Moluccan's are among the loudest parrots alive.
Quest? tragically the discount means the two things combined are too cheap
Reward Cost: Magical Item from Ryslig - 60
Activity: 13 COINS FOR JULY, 7 COINS FOR AUGUST, 9 COINS FOR SEPTEMBER, 20 COINS FOR OCTOBER, 4 COINS FOR NOVEMBER, 2 COINS FOR JANUARY, 1 COIN FOR FEBRUARY, 3 COINS FOR APRIL
Request: Emporio asked for some help with his fears. But, well...
Backfire? Mana delivered half of this in the form of a bird. The other half will be an item that Emporio can wear- and is expected to wear a lot for that matter! It should be quite warm.
Quest? ROBBED OF QUESTS BY THE DISCOUNT....ahhhhh...

As for the rest- rather than an amulet, some sort of warm article of clothing like a poncho would be better. Emporio is largely fighting against trauma with the ocean (quite ironic now, looking at the endgame post), so if anything it would probably help prevent that kind of intrusive flashback, or at least replace it with something more comforting.
no subject
For the magical item to help with his fears, Emporio will receive a special comfort sweater to keep him warm. The sweater will mold to his turtle body and peel off easily when he wishes to take it off. Furthermore, it is decorated like a “Nattensfest-in-July” sweater, complete with a parasite in a santa hat knitted into the front. The sweater contains fairy lights that will light up with a dim glow whenever Emporio is feeling fearful or is in need of warm comfort.

Reward Cost: Magical Item from Ryslig (with 2 Spells) - 80
Activity: 3 COINS FOR FEBRUARY, 2 COINS FOR MARCH, 2 COINS FOR APRIL, 1 COIN FOR JUNE, 3 COINS FOR AUGUST, 3 COINS FOR SEPTEMBER, 12 COINS FOR OCTOBER, 3 COINS FOR NOVEMBER, 7 COINS FOR DECEMBER, 1 COIN FOR JANUARY, 3 COINS FOR FEBRUARY, 3 COINS FOR APRIL, 1 COIN FOR MAY, 3 COINS FOR JULY, 4 COINS FOR AUGUST, 6 COINS FOR SEPTEMBER, 10 COINS FOR OCTOBER, 1 COIN FOR JANUARY, 2 COINS FOR FEBRUARY, 2 COINS FOR MARCH, 4 COINS FOR APRIL, 2 COINS FOR MAY, 2 COINS FOR JUNE
Request: Noa is tired, Mana. He asks for her to maybe do something about that, get rid of the exhaustion or something.
Backfire? Well that's not how you solve a problem, so Mana gives Noa a very special item indeed; whatever it is, the spells involved will create some kind of vacation and/or spa experience. How handy!
Quest? YES PLEASE

Well I haven't completely come up with it, (Thank you for putting up with my last minute nonsense modteam, ah,,,,)
But I think as an idea, a boxy thing that just opens up into an ultra relaxing spa chair is neat. Like it yoinks him in and starts delivering the full massage and grooming treatment before tossing him back out and folding up again for later.
no subject
To receive his reward, Noa must attend a yoga class as a cat. What will ensue is a cat version of goat yoga, ‘NekoYoga,’ in which Noa and many stray cats get to prance and curl up on human yoga students as they attempt to hold their balance in pretzel-twisting poses. It ends up being a very warm and relaxing experience for him. During his yoga class, he will fall asleep on one of the human’s backs, who will take him home, pamper him, feed him, and let him stay the night — as a cat. If he is able to tolerate the human affection for one night, he will be taken to a professional kitty groomer, who will issue him a magic box that he can keep, and it will grow into his own personal pampering/vacation space.
I am so sorry for all of these coins,
Reward Cost: Magic Item from Ryslig, with Two spells - 80
Activity: 1 COIN FOR MAY, 8 COINS FOR JUNE, 20 COINS FOR JULY, 18 COINS FOR AUGUST, 20 COINS FOR SEPTEMBER, 13 COINS FOR OCTOBER (27 Remaining)
Request: Reira loves that car Tsukikage got her and all, but it doesn't really feel great for going into the backwoods and offroad areas. Neither do her rollerblades or bike. Honestly she misses riding a horse, but a horse won't work either. Can you help, Mana?
Backfire? Technically there's no backfire beyond the mysteries of what this is. Also maybe it's alive somehow?? (Look Mana, you don't have a 'pet from Ryslig' tier anymore.) Mysterious...
In any case, Mana procures an item that amounts to a TRANSFORMING MOTORCYCLE. Whatever it turns into, whatever it does in addition, the important part is that half the time, it's a motorcycle that she can ride.
Quest? YES PLEASE
Reward Cost: 50 Coin Landmark
Activity: 27 COINS FOR OCTOBER, 8 COINS FOR NOVEMBER, 4 COINS FOR JANUARY, 1 COIN FOR FEBRUARY, 6 COINS FOR MARCH, 4 COINS FOR APRIL (2 Remaining)
Request: Reira, after many years of chatting with Mana, gives Mana most of her remaining coins and asks for Mana to do something nice for the people of Ryslig. Oh how sweet!
Backfire? Well for once Mana went to actually ask the people what they wanted- specifically she asked all the people who moved into Corrupt Central Park what they wanted (even if she had to catch 'm outside the place). What's that? A dedication to the monster that's helped them out all these years?? Okay....
What Mana thus does is (in a nicer, non corrupted park) set up a Fountain Statue. It appears to be of Reira, though it's borrowing traits of how the people described her magic costumed, nymph form. Very neat. Sits right in the middle of a big pond. Reira will be Mortified :]
(Oh and if mods want it can have all the names of every monster ever at the base, it won't self update or anything but, yknow,)
Quest? this part can't have a quest so it's just a horrible little surprise hehe :]

ANYWAY uh, at the risk of everyone in pokemon ever coming for my throat i cannot avoid the obvious choice of some kind of dragon,
we had it first pokemon!!!! Multiple times even!
That aside if that leaves an open spell slot I guess I leave it in the mods hands on how much driving over unique surfaces would be allowed. Up walls? Over water? I'm not sure where it would stop being a second spell...
no subject
In any case, provided a bike that can turn into a rideable flightless robo-dragon that cannot fly is good with you, your Mana requests have both been granted. This creature, when transformed into its dragon form, has the ability to run up walls.
To receive this magic bike, Reira must cave-dive into the hottest volcanic cave of Brasa and bargain with one of the baby Kaiju for a scale from their backs. This will cost her one childhood dream, which it will consume. She must then crush the scale into a pot of boiling ocean water and pour it over an inorganic ‘skeleton’ of her choice — this can be a regular bike, a Mall of Bavania mannequin, a normal mannequin, a stuffed animal, whatever you choose. The object and the scale-water will then melt and reshape into her magic bike over the course of one night.

Request: When RS reverts to being a harpy full-time, he misses how he resonated with some of the other monster types he's been; so he summons Mana and requests "something to make me feel more like myself" - whatever she can do with that for the coins he has left.
Backfire? He gets his hair-"not-horns" back in harpy form (in addition to keeping the heron-crest they originally changed into as part of harpydom); also their aesthetic mobility: he can once again twitch/move these "not-horns" slightly to aid in expressiveness. (He won't mind the "backfire" at all, it just wouldn't occur to him to ask for it specifically.)

Request: "Man, I want like an easy maintenance pet. Something that won't bother the dog at home. Maybe something that can help me and my friends with tech."
Backfire? Ermes is going to get a pet, alright. Chompy, the bulldog clip frequently seen on laptops of RSDOS v3! Whether or not it's a replica of Chompy is up for debate (Ermes' Chompy seems to disappear if the digital Chompy is nearby and vice versa) but the pet is just Chompy brought to the 3D world. His "magical" ability is being able to jump into laptops and go digital (mostly Ermes' laptop but others with player permission) and do all the things that regular Chompy does. In the 3D world, he's basically just a talking bullclip with the enthusiasm of a puppy that doesn't need to eat or sleep, just return to a laptop every 24 hours.
Quest? Nah. Ermes will go home, drop her laptop and out will spill Chompy with a note from Mana saying Chompy is her new pet since she likes Chompy so much. Mana's never quite understood liking something ironically.

Request: Tsukikage has been feeling nostalgic for some reason
almost like Ryslig is closingand has been thinking about home. He'll ask Mana for a couple of things that remind him of home.Backfire? The larger item will be a traditional Japanese koto, carved with symbols of the Fuuma Clan on it. Tsukikage is incredibly mediocre with the koto (musical talent is not included in the 20 coin cost) but it's incredibly nostalgic. The smaller item will be his mother's ninja scarf, a bright green version of his own. It still smells like plums.
Quest? No but Tsukikage will thank Mana politely for all her good work and give her a dozen eggs. He knows she enjoys those :)

Request: Ryou will ask for the ability to feed on blood again. He's used to it and misses it, and he won't eat a soul if he can help it. He miscounts, of course, overpaying Mana by 10 coins.
Backfire? Mana catches sight of Ryou's half-healed eye and decides that since he gave her extra, she'll give him a new eye! From home! Specifically, she's going to install some Ancient Egyptian hardware into his face by way of the Millennium Eye. It's depowered since I haven't got enough coins, so no worries there!
Also as is customary, it's gonna hurt when the Eye appears and displaces what's there. Love u Mana, gonna miss u gurl! <3
