MANA REWARDS DEFUNCT

Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.

Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Lower purchases may receive pre-written quests unless you opt out of them, and you are also free to write your own.

Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.

DISCOUNTS
Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:

JANUARY
New year, new me! Permanent monster changes are on sale!
MARCH
Time to put down some new foundations. Buildings are on sale!
MAY
April showers bring May powers--that is, powers/abilities are on sale!
JULY
It's the dog days of summer. Pets/creatures are on sale!
SEPTEMBER
More like Sep-temp-ber. Temporary monster changes are on sale!
NOVEMBER
Get a gift for that special someone. Items/weapons are on sale!

ITEMS
This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.

10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.

20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.

WEAPONS
As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.

20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.

20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.

PETS/CREATURES
Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.

20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.

MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY
20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.

MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT
20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).

POWERS/ABILITIES
60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.

60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.

BUILDINGS
20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue). This will be added to Player Locations.
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.

20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.

SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM
When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.

If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.

Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting.

Backfire? He'll become the monster type of the friends he named. Oops. To remind him of Dorian he will get two months of being a naga. For naming Chris and Lorraine he will spend four months as a kelpie.
Quest? Mana will give him three candles. One appears to be coated in elaborate scales. The other two look normal but smell faintly of damp. This will become worse once they're lit. Mana will tell him that he needs to gift the candles to three people he would like to become closer to and ask them to light the candles on his behalf. Once all three have burned out the first of his transformations will take place.

Would it be possible to obtain a magical item that could weaken the influence of god power in a given area? I'm fine if it's just limited to one god. Like it would almost work as a different version of a conduit is what I'm envisioning. God followers would not be able to use their god gifts in this space so any follower-related power-ups would be nullified the same as monster powers are nullified in Fourth zones. Obviously, their normal monster powers would still function just fine. I would also want the item to be transferable from one area to the next. But it would only have its effect in the area where the item was actually present. Like a talisman or such.

If it's doable, would this fall under the 60 coins cost or be higher?

Also, if possible, would this item be the only one in existence or could more be purchased?

Thank you for this response. I'm definitely interest in this concept.

I think people are leaning more toward the magical location. Would that cost the same? How would it function? I know I came up with ideas, but I want to see which ones would be allowed.

80 coins would buy a magical location the size of a five-bedroom house which neutralizes the abilities gained through god boons! The body modifications that also come with the boons would not be neutralized, but any additional powers the modifications may have would no longer work as long as they are within the neutralizing space. All abilities that were canceled out would begin working as soon as they leave the purchased location.

Request: Jimmy's going to ask Mana for his house from back home! It's very small, especially when compared to some of the larger structures in a place like Bavan. Here is a handy visual aid.
Backfire? Mana will have his house appear a bit too close to a tree growing someplace in town, causing both his house and the tree to fuse in a way similar to the picture. The damage done to the house itself is minimal, and the tree will function more as a living and welcome addition to Manticores everywhere. A happy accident!

Mana will give Choromatsu a strange, black-glass vial, shaped like a tall pyramid. She will warn him under no circumstances to open it until he has followed her instructions to the correct point. Rattling it will sound like there are stones within, though...

Choromatsu must obtain a small tuft of fur, a few scales, and a few small feathers from any three monsters. However, they must be monsters he is not already familiar with! He must use his werebear strength to pound the scales into dust, and must carefully burn the feathers and fur, collecting as many of the ashes as he is able. All of this must be mixed into water (or soda, or any other liquid...) and he must pour this over the vial. What is within will abruptly start sounding like it's sloshing around instead of rattling like stones.

The vial must now be left either in moonlight, or out in fog, for at least on hour. Exactly an hour later - no more than one minute in delay - Choromatsu must pop it open and drink it. It will taste awful at first but then switch to a pleasant, nutty-flavoured aftertaste.

...and then knock him out for a few hours.

When he wakes, Choromatsu will be a Pooka, surrounded by shed fur as if from his large night form.

I'm not at the coin amount for any of this since Carl is still very new, but I thought I should ask so I can plan ahead and save up etc, if something can be done.

Anyway.

I understand that a monster weakness cannot be completely removed, but it can be temporarily swapped with another. He's not looking to turn into another monster (because he doesn't dislike being a robot, beyond the no-water thing) or temporarily human, either. But once his weakness to water sets in, since it's a mandatory change for a simulacrum, he will, without a doubt, miss water and being able to swim and all that.

What he would look for would be to be able to use a power or spell to be able to withstand water for some time. A time limit is fine, as long as he can be in the water sometimes and play with the kids and swim and stuff like that. But I don't know if that would be doable or not, or how many coins he would need for it, if it is.

I was also considering on having the backfire being that he temporarily turns into a water-monster, like a mer or a kelpie, for a month or maybe four, depending on what I go with. I've gathered that this means that I'll need the coins for it, but I'll save anyway.

Oh, and if it makes any difference, he's more glass than he is metal, on the outside.

So Ed is thinking of buying his mom's old apartment that he has not lived in for about 10 years from Mana (a 20 coin one, because it's basically just a bedroom and a kitchen and a larder, and very small), but he's wondering if the outhouse would cost extra, or if it would cost extra to have the larder turned into a toilet.

Permanently too? I missed that. How did I miss that, it's right up there... I guess I got a bit occupied reading the other questions... If permanently changing it is possible, he would prefer that, though I don't know what other weaknesses he could get. I could add the magnet weakness since I went with a heat one for an alt. computer weakness instead of magnets, but I'm not sure.

I'm only going for a temporary switch on the monster type, that I'm already set on, at least.

Okay I'm ready to more or less do an official submission for this thematically similar power, but I wanted to hammer out some specifics before we head off to do unholy rituals.

In their most basic form, blood monsters are exactly what you expect: monsters made of blood. When combined with magic, the blood from Tsukikage becomes thicker, allowing for the blood monsters to be solid enough to not leave a trail of blood everywhere, but liquid enough to be slimy to the touch. They have the consistency of putty but when 'attacking' they can solidify their bodies to be more viscous, allowing the monsters to ensnare their enemies. Typically the monsters go for a restraint approach opposed to a murderous approach when left to their own devices (they can't kill unless Tsukikage specifically tells them to drown someone). Naturally, Blood Monsters are extremely slow.

As mentioned before, only 5L of blood can be magically enchanted to make these monsters. This blood can be divided into smaller blobs or into one big blob. When combined into one monster, the creature can stretch its body and typically hold one player character in it (with permission) and can take fairly complex commands as long as they're specific enough ('go cook dinner' is out of the monster's understanding but 'go cook dinner using two meats from the freezer and cook them on the stove'). In the 5L form, the blood monster is almost sentient, and is a really cool pet.

At their smallest, the blood monster can be separate 50mL blobs that are able to be assigned to a number of tasks. These blobs are generally fairly stupid (but cute) and can only at best carry small objects and follow people, acting as trackers for Tsukikage to follow. Their strength and intelligence varies on their size.

Blood Monsters can 'talk' to those who have an understanding of the principles of blood magic, so probably only Tsukikage and Mana at this time. Otherwise they'll sound like they're making grebbly watery sounds to people. Blood monsters can also 'die' when their magic is severed (like in the Fourth Corruption zones) or if their parts cannot reassemble within the hour. For example, if Tsukikage assigns 300ml of blood together, if someone breaks the blob it will try and reassemble itself back to that 300mL. If said person puts a part of that blood in a jar and traps it, preventing it from reuniting with the rest of it, the blob will die and return to being regular blood.

Since part of the point of these little blood monsters is to constantly protect the neutral zone (being bought by Rin's mun) even when I'm not around (ie if I drop or die or whatever) I was hoping to add an additional part into this summoning spell. If Tsukikage binds the creatures to one place (and only one place), he loses control over them permanently and makes them loyal to that place (which doesn't count to his 5L cap but can count to a separate limit). So in the context of what I want to do, Tsukikage will literally pour blood out to make sentries for the neutral zone that will patrol the area and attack anyone who is causing trouble (attack being swallowing the person whole and then dragging them to the boundary of the zone and spitting them out). They'd tolerate followers but if they get the warning signs that we have spies and not guests, they'll attack (so basically I'm giving the neutral zone the equivalent of the robots in the Arcade and the Fog citizens in Dyster). When bound to a place, leaving it will sever the magic, resulting in their death. However, after two hours they'll respawn, to prevent the grounds from ever being fully defenceless.

Yes he's going to pour a lot of blood out. Yes every time he does this he'll get extremely hungry.

I'm ready for anything you need: limits, clarifications or mods. Hopefully we can get close to what I'm hoping for! If I need to do a specific ritual beforehand, please tell me otherwise I'm gonna make my own messed up thing up.

Also since Teri did pop in and inform me I may or may not be able to do both, I'll be buying the the neutral zone protectors if I can't do both. At least the framework is here for a future purchase.

Backfire? He fucks up the spell because of course he does and turns into a merman for a month. It's kind of what he asked for?
Quest? Mana will give him a special square of cloth all in warm colors and instruct him to hang it in front of his heat lamp and stay there under its light for exactly an hour-- no more, no less. But he's a snake and he likes to bask so it's gonna be more like five. Whoops.
