MANA REWARDS DEFUNCT

Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.

Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Lower purchases may receive pre-written quests unless you opt out of them, and you are also free to write your own.

Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.

DISCOUNTS

Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:

JANUARY New year, new me! Permanent monster changes are on sale!

MARCH Time to put down some new foundations. Buildings are on sale!

MAY April showers bring May powers--that is, powers/abilities are on sale!

JULY It's the dog days of summer. Pets/creatures are on sale!

SEPTEMBER More like Sep-temp-ber. Temporary monster changes are on sale!

NOVEMBER Get a gift for that special someone. Items/weapons are on sale!

ITEMS

This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.

10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.

20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.

WEAPONS

As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.

20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.

20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.

PETS/CREATURES

Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.

20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.

MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY

20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.

MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT

20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).

POWERS/ABILITIES

60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.

60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.

BUILDINGS

20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue). This will be added to Player Locations.
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.

20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.

SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM

When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.

If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.

Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting.

What tier would shadow mimicry fall under regarding powers? Originally I was saving up for 120 coins & planning to have a time limit &/or additional hunger from excessive use but with the changes, I'm not sure which one it would be.

First up, these Mana Reward changes are much nicer and more streamlined than the old rewards, and I like what the team has done with quests! Good stuff.

Since we're starting fresh, I just wanna double check whether a previous ruling would still be valid and the same under the new mana rewards. Is this still okay to request and is the number of coins required the same?

This is a fairly odd set of questions-as usual I seem to be full of them...-but here goes!

Reira has a goblin spike; before the Rewards Update, I had intended to have him ask to have 'something' done to it.

The trouble is, I was going to leave the 'what' to the mods. The idea wasn't that it would be anything intense though. More that it could end up carved into a decoration, or a knife, or...'Something' that he could somehow use in his life.

Since the entire point of the revamp was to make things easier on the mods however, and all reward requests involving Mod Involvement are 60 coins or higher, would it be preferred that I just sort myself out on something I want done to the thing, and then ask after that point?

Also, would such an act fall under a minor, 20 coin type request given that it's effectively asking for Mana to do some carving work on an existing object?

QUESTION TWO!

Loki has a gift from Kaito that he has yet to put into play; a clay bird, that will be charmed into animation for a month by the spell Kaito imbued in its accompanying paper seal (Loki hasn't activated it yet). Once Loki activates this spell, he'll want to find a way to make it permanent.

Adding spells or effects to magical things costs 20 coins-However, since this object was made by another character (who is also now gone), and since the spell would have had a 30 day time limit on it regardless, is it correct to assume that Loki's request would cost 60 coins?

Finally, as a bonus question; how much would it cost to revamp/clean up/renovate an existing location? Nothing magical-just making the place a little more...livable, basically.

I'd like to request Lucille's birthplace and home, Allerdale Hall, but I just wanted to double-check how much it would be. It is a mansion, but it's a very large one, with three stories, an unknown number of rooms, and then the clay pits in the basement. I'm just not sure if it'd be 40 coins, 50 coins or more!

So, for a temp monster change, one month is 20 coins and four months is 60. Would three months also cost 60 since it's three one month changes or would it be possible to pay slightly less since it's less time? This isn't a time-sensitive question, I'm just feeling out my options since four months is a Long Time but if I'm going to have to pay 60 coins either way I might as well take the extra month.

This is going to sound like a really strange question, but how much would it cost to buy a cake that even a vampire can taste? The vampire has lost the ability to taste food under normal conditions so it will involve some magic. The more it can taste like an actual cake the better, but I'd definitely like it to be sweet.

For clarification, it just needs to be the size of a normal birthday cake. He might not eat it all at the party, but it's a consumable item so once he finishes it, it's gone forever. Aside from the cake, tastable cool whip and strawberry toppings are a bonus, but not required.

Hi mods!

I'm intending to purchase a pair of flight capable wings for Crow at some point in the future. However! Instead of them being permanently affixed to his back, they would take the form of tattoos on his shoulderblades that would rip out of his flesh when he wants to use them. It'll be painful and bloody, etc. and when he hides the wings again, he'll still be bleeding.

I see it's 80 coins for a functional body mod (including flight-capable wings), but since this comes with the bonus of being 'hidden' as tattoos, will that cost more coins? And if so, how much?

Hey mods, before I submit a request, I just want to ask how much you'd think it would be because I honestly have no idea. (And if this isn't possible as a reward, that's fine! Just let me know.)

Basically I want fancy soundproofing and odorproofing for the medieval dungeon in AM's castle. This would be a modification to an existing building, but is possibly magical in nature so, my original guess would be about 40-60 coins maybe? If I'm way off, I'm sorry. Thanks!

Hello hello!

So I'm considering Reira buying a spell for his lovely Eleseal, but I have to ask a question first; on nonmagical pets, one needs to pay the difference to make them 'magical'.

As far as I can tell, Eleseal (Technically named Lusus but hey) isn't magical so much as 'strange'; BUT I feel the need to ask all the same, since they did kind of originate from the 'Magical Item from Ryslig' reward, I figured I should see if there's a difference to pay or not.

On that note; when it comes to spells, what kind of limit are we talking here? My brain sort of auto-levels it to like...tier 2 boon levels of power, depending on the spell. (Personally speaking, Reira won't be going for anything very complicated so much as 'and now the seal can light up the dark a bit more', but this is probably something useful for other players in this case!)

Lampent as a Lampent wouldn't be as big as a large dog (maaaaybe a dachshund or something) and it would be, like, easily covered up by four palms as a Litwick.

2. Does feeding on spiritual energy of the deceased and/or sapping the life force out of the still-living count as a magical ability? It's not a Pokemon attack, it's just the way this Pokemon feeds and keeps its fire going! It lives much like the monsters here that feed off spirits, probably.

Its abilities are more like. Flamethrower or Shadow Ball or something.

If Soeki were to ask for a small medical practice/clinic, would it come furnished and stocked with the basics (the sorts of things you'd find in a GP's office, exam tables, basic lab equipment and diagnostic tools, initial stock of supplies, etc), or would that cost extra? Just going off the size of the building I'd say it'd fall into the 30 coin tier as it doesn't need to be massive, but I'm not sure if the stuff inside would bump it up to 40 or more.

Basically how much coin to lay down to let the boy be a back-alley doctor.

Where would a ranch fall in terms of cost? I was guessing at the 40-coin tier, but the house itself is much smaller than a mansion (it's a pretty small house), which could classify it under 30 coins, but then there's the land that went with it... and given the scale of land and outbuildings and such, would that pick it up to 50?

EDIT: while I'm asking about cost, how much would a horse be? It's bigger than a large dog, obviously, but not magical, so I wasn't sure.

So, this is just an idea, but I want to gauge price before I do anything else.

Let's say there's a set of silver rings from home that I wanted to request, each exactly the same, and each belonging to a different individual. Let's also say we wanted to bring both to Ryslig, but add some sort of magical property to them. How much would this cost per ring?

Let's also say the magical property would be tied to the other ring in question -- would this be permissible? For example (and I'm not totally decided on this yet), being able to teleport directly to the location of the other person's ring, or some ability that only activates when the two are together. Would any of these alter the cost, or would there be any caveats to it I should know about?

HELLOOOOO double checking on something since depending on, Loki might just have enough for this come the end of April's AC period! So!

Where would a spell to materialize and throw cards fit in, assuming a certain limit of the number of cards, as well as the amount of force that could be behind them? 60, or 120?

Would simply using existing cards and 'recalling' them rather than creating brand new ones that dissolved affect this spell?
