MANA REWARDS (DEFUNCT)

THIS PAGE IS NO LONGER IN USE! PLEASE USE THE NEW MANA REWARDS PAGE FOR ANY PURCHASES
Once you've started earning bonus coins, your characters will find a small canvas satchel either in their pocket or under their pillow. The satchel will contain the number of bonus coins earned. Each coin is copper and looks very much like a penny except it has the character's monster stamped on it. The satchel also contains a small scroll featuring a single word: AGIMAT. Reading this word will summon Mana, who will gladly accept these coins as payment for magical favors, whether that be summoning an item from your character's home or bestowing unto them an amazing new power.
Receiving a reward isn't always easy, however. To focus her magic, Mana will send characters on a quest, usually to gather materials or perform a ritual. To receive a mod-custom quest, you must purchase a reward at 80 coins or higher. This is limited to one per player per month. Lower purchases may receive pre-written quests unless you opt out of them, and you are also free to write your own.
Mana can only be summoned by each character once a month. A new toplevel for each month will be posted where you can leave your requests, and the threads will be frozen at the end of the month, once all requests have been processed. Below are categories of rewards for characters to choose from, with a general idea of how much each thing might cost. If you're unsure which tier your reward belongs on, ask below in the relevant thread.
DISCOUNTS
Having recently become a bit more business-savvy, Mana is now offering regular discounts to monsters on various items! Every other month, different request categories will have a 20% discount. Wow! When putting in a request, make sure to note the discount in your comment. The schedule is as follows:ITEMS
This section excludes weapons; additionally, advanced tech (think super futuristic/sci-fi, not necessarily cell phones) falls into the same category as magical items. Magical items may be imbued with up to four magical spells.
10 - An item from home that can easily fit in someone's hand. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 50 coins.
20 - An item from home up to a meter tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
40 - An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. An item from home up to three meters tall/wide. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 20 coins.
60 - A magical item from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical item from Ryslig. Mods will design the item, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your item.
40 - A third spell or effect for your item.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your item.WEAPONS
As with items, weapons may be imbued with up to four magical spells. Ammo availability will be determined on an individual basis.
20 - A mundane weapon from home. You may make it magical and imbue it with a spell for an additional 40 coins.
60 - A magical/high-tech weapon from home with a single spell/effect it already has in canon.
60 - A magical weapon from Ryslig. Mods will design the weapon, but you should give us an idea of what it should do/be used for.
20 - A second spell or effect for your weapon.
40 - A third spell or effect for your weapon.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your weapon.PETS/CREATURES
Any creature or monster summoned from Mana will come with their summon item (e.g., a Pokémon would come with a Pokéball, a demon would have their summoning catalyst, etc.). Characters may have as many non-magical pets as they can buy, but only one (1) magical one. Magical pets are limited to a single ability slot, and these abilities do not work on monsters. The prices listed below are in mundane-magical format; the first number is the price for a base pet, the second is the price for a magical pet.
20-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a small dog.
30-60 - A pet from home that is the size of a large dog.
50-70 - A pet from home that is the size of a human.
60-80 - A pet from home that is the size of a horse.
100-120 - A pet from home that is the size of a hippo. This is the largest size allowed; pets bigger than this in canon will be shrunk upon arrival in Ryslig.MONSTER CHANGES -- TEMPORARY
20 - Change to a different monster form for one month. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.
20 - The ability to switch between human and monster for a month. The spell allows the character to voluntarily switch every two days, and does not stop cravings. The human form does not retain any monster abilities, aside from the ability to switch forms.
20 - Turn human for a month. This eliminates cravings. You may revert at any time, but this will void the remaining duration.
60 - Change to a different monster form for four months. Temporary monster form is chosen by the player.MONSTER CHANGES -- PERMANENT
20 - A minor modification to a character's appearance (e.g., gain a few inches, change eye color, sharper teeth, web toes, etc)
40 - Change to a different feeding source (e.g., meat, blood, souls). You will be gifted with the necessary modification for that source (claws and teeth for meat, a spell to drain souls, etc).
80 - A functional body modification (e.g., flight-capable wings, second pair of limbs, etc.)
80 - Weakness exchange (e.g., exchanging sunlight weakness for cold weakness). The player must provide the weakness being exchanged, but either the player or mods may submit a weakness to replace it.
100 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 7 player-provided options)
120 - Change your monster type (mods randomize from 3 player-provided options)
120 - Ability to switch between monster and human form once per day. This does not stop cravings, and no monster powers carry over to the human form.
150 - Change your monster type (player's choice).POWERS/ABILITIES
60 - A minor spell or ability, possibly with a time limit (e.g., walk on water for 20 minutes, double strength bonus usable once a day).
80 - Upgrade an existing monster ability.
80 - A summon, or a power tied to a summon (e.g., Stands, Personas). See the FAQ for details.
80 - An intermediate spell or ability. This largely covers powers that don't have a lot of restrictions, but don't affect monsters besides the possessor of the ability.
120 - A major spell or ability.
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form, no time limit, but restricted to the bestiary's allowed species. (e.g., a rat Pooka with an extra rabbit form)
60 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, restricted to one consecutive hour a day.
80 - An additional Travel or Stealth form outside the allowed species, no time limit.BUILDINGS
20 - A structure from home no bigger than a two-bedroom apartment.
30 - A structure from home no bigger than a five-bedroom house.
40 - A structure from home no bigger than a mansion.
50 - A significant landmark built for your character (e.g. a castle, housing complex, massive bronze statue). This will be added to Player Locations.
60 - A small town (≤80 small houses).
80 - A magical location or structure no bigger than a five-bedroom house, or the enchantment of a preexisting Ryslig location.
120 - A large city (≤400 houses) that comes with a statue of the character.
20 - A second spell or effect for your magical location.
40 - A third spell or effect for your magical location.
80 - A fourth spell or effect for your magical location.SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM
When describing your reward, please be as detailed as possible. Many lower-tier rewards are self-explanatory, but high-tier rewards such as powers, magical items/weapons, and monster modifications especially should be outlined clearly. The mods will be happy to work with you to ascertain a fun and balanced power set.If your character wouldn't outright ask for the reward you want them to have, have them ask for something else and then fill out the backfire field with what you actually want them to have. (Mana is not as good at summoning as Tikbalang, and characters who don't follow her quests to the letter risk the ritual going wrong.) Your backfire should be something that could conceivably result from the actual request.
Please be advised that mods reserve the right to modify or veto a reward that is too incongruous with the setting.

Request: Her awesome castle from back home.
Backfire? Instead of her own awesome castle she gets Feferi's awesome castle, given the whole weird dancestors deal. Which she probably won't be that bothered about because hey it's still a fuchsia-blood's castle.
Quest? A pre-written one would be great!

(frozen comment) QUEST
Meenah will need to go to the place she wishes her building to be and bury the skull, then use the claw to carve a drawing of what she wants into the ground above it - this does not have to be very accurate, it's the intention that matters. Then she should build a rough shelter above her drawing with her building materials; again, it doesn't have to be any particular shape or complexity, as long as it is stable. Finally, Meenah must plant the seeds around her structure.
For the next two days the seeds must be watered regularly - they will explode into flowering growth and use up water very fast. By the end of the second day they will have formed a shape reminiscent of Meenah's castle; on the third morning they will wither away, revealing it.

Request: He'd like to have his Wii! Yes it's the real Nintendo deal.
It'll also come with everything that would be included in a brand new unopened box, plus two games coded into the console (though would they have to be reskinned for 4th Wall reasons?)
Backfire? It's a Wii U instead.
What do you mean it's better. But a Wii remote is still included in the package alongside the "Gamepad".
Quest? Custom quest, written by another player.

(frozen comment) QUEST
- Two claws from two different monsters, willingly given (these may be traded for or gifted)
- A piece of wood from a flowering tree, which he will need to carve into the likeness of a storm. (It doesn't have to be very accurate, it's his impression and the thought that counts.)
- Any heavily acidic liquid
Throughout the entire time collecting these, he must make sure to wear the charm close to his heart. If it's not on him when he gets something, it will not qualify.
Once he obtains these items, he will need to go to a dead tree on a hill, part of the way between Bavan and Rota. (Mana will give him directions.) He will have to climb the tree and hang the charm on the highest branch, along with the claws, then climb back down and place the carved wood at the base of the tree. Here he must pour the acidic liquid over it to melt it and (optionally) back off.
Shortly after he finishes this, clouds will gather over the tree and start to rain, rumbling with thunder. About five minutes in, a bolt of lightning will flash down and strike the charm on top of the tree.
When the storm clears and Akari goes to retrieve his reward, he will find in place of the charm a pair of tiger claw gloves. They appear to have thin grooves up each finger and in circles around the knuckles; when Akari puts the gloves on, these will give a faint yellow-white glow that increases in intensity the longer he wears them. Within a few minutes, the glow will start to flicker brightly as the colours mimic those of a thunderstorm.
The gloves are made from a strong metallic material but will seem like normal claws until Akari snaps his fingers. The snap will activity the gloves' lightning ability, causing small lightning streams to flicker between the spikes on the outer side. Though he won’t be able to shoot the lightning or transfer it in any other way besides direct contact, Akari will gain the ability to electrocute anything he touches while the gloves are activated.

Backfire? A small dragon for a travel form! It's small and can fly and that's about it. Completely nonthreatening from a combat perspective.
Quest? Personalized would be great, thanks!

(frozen comment) QUEST
- His hoard (if he doesn't have one yet he better decide on one quick)
- Two feathers from a harpy
- Ten scales from a gargoyle, other than himself
- Help from a demon (magic)
Yusei will need to create a nest using materials from his hoard. Then, for the next three days, he will need to crack open an egg (carefully, making sure not to lose any pieces of shell) and consume the inside. Once this is done, he will need to replace the yolk with the materials he has gathered (the feathers on the first day, the scales on the second, a bit of demon fire for the third) and close the shell - it will reseal, as if it was never broken.
Each day he will need to carefully incubate an egg with his own fire; each night, the same egg will melt into a gold puddle at the bottom of his nest and solidify that way. On the third day, he will need to sleep next to the egg in his nest.
He will wake up in the middle of the night with the egg melting over him - it will condense into a thin gold sheet over him and slowly start to compress. He will not be able to break out of it until a good ten minutes have passed - then it will shatter, letting him free in his new travel form.
From then on Yusei will be able to change between forms at will.

Request: A magical item from Ryslig. Hiyoko wants some kind of protective item. A ward or something--since the reasoning behind this quest is to prove she can do things other than dancing or being a little brat.
Backfire? Since she never states protection from what, anything is on the table. Though, maybe not from weather or temperature because that could negate her weakness to cold.
Quest? Nah.
(frozen comment) APPROVED
Hiyoko will recieve a small, white hair ornament, topped with a design of flowers - on closer inspection, it seems to have been very skillfully carved out of bone. The first time she touches it will send an uneasy feeling up her spine - from then on it will seem very slightly warm to the touch, but only when Hiyoko is the one holding it.
Putting the ornament on will make it start whispering to her quietly, in a voice only she can hear - egging her on, or trying to make her angry. At the same time, it will grant her protection, making her bones unbreakable. While Hiyoko will still be susceptible to tissue damage and any other kind of trauma, her bones themselves will become invulnerable to any impact.
However: if Hiyoko ever loses her temper while wearing the ornament, its effect will be nullified for three days, worn or not. If she ever succumbs to an immature impulse while wearing it, it will deactivate for a full week. Additionally, if she is being actively protected (as in a fight) the whispering will grow more intense for at least several hours following.
Hiyoko may remove the ornament at any time to avoid this - if she loses her temper just after taking it off, its effect will be preserved. (Of course, if she's just holding it rather than wearing it, it won't grant her any protection...)

(frozen comment) QUEST yer sure getting yer money's worth on this 10 coin buddy
Well, Mana has an idea. It's time to brush up on your arts and crafts, Sora-Mana will present him with a small sewing kit, containing scissors, thread, needles, and some measuring tape.
That's what Mana's providing; Sora needs to get the rest himself. Mana will explain that using the dimensions of the box, he will need to take the shed skin of a naga and sew it together into a box of equal size. Once the box is formed, he will need the help of both the naga from whom the skin came, and a gargoyle. Gathering together when the moon is impossible to see in the sky, the naga must soak the box entirely in venom; the gargoyle must then immediately coat it in constant flame!
Curiously, all three should notice that the box isn't actually burning. Instead it begins to harden, with the threads melting together with the scales. They might find themselves distracted for a bit in fact-and once the fire is put out, a glistening box containing all 60 of Sora's cards will be there!
With a little bit of shine left over from burning a little too long. Imagine what would have happened if you burned it longer! (To be fair to all three though, Mana did neglect to give them a time limit.)
Sora will be able to keep the sewing kit after this as well; all the magic thread should have been used up making the box, leaving him with the same supplies he'd get from a cheap sewing kit anyway.
