MINOTAUR
|
Minotaurs are creatures that tend to inhabit dense, complex terrain like mountains, forests, and cities. They have great awareness of their surroundings and trap their victims by chasing them into dead ends and unfamiliar territory. Cattle, Dik diks, Bison, Ox, Buffalo, Pigs, Goats, Antelopes, Sheep, Hippos and Elephants are acceptable. Aim for the Bovidae family! (frozen comment) FAQ
MONSTER ABILITIES:
For the musical ability, can their instrument be their voice?
Singing abilities fall under different monsters, such as the Merperson. Minotaurs can play anything, but if they sang badly before, they would still sing badly now.
Do cities also count as 'mazes' the Minotaur can navigate with ease?
Absolutely.
The sharpened senses specify increased vision, but my character is blind. Can their hearing be increased instead?
That is allowed.
If we opt to give our Minotaurs horizontal pupils, can they have the enhanced range of peripheral vision that goes along with that or no?
If you'd like, enhanced peripheral vision can count as a sharpened sense of sight!
MONSTER BODIES AND CHANGES:
The bestiary says Minotaurs have increased muscle strength, but what's the upper limit to that?
Minotaurs are the strongest monsters, able to lift 6-7 times more than the average human (compared to 4-5 times for another monster), along with possessing more stamina.
When you say a Minotaur can run for a long time and chase someone, about how far would they be able to go and for how fast?
We try not to have specifics with regards these sorts of stats, to give the players more freedom, so you can decide on something that's within reason. Minotaurs outclass human NPCs in speed and endurance by a long shot. If this comes up in a thread with another monster, this would likely need to be worked out with another player.
What kind of teeth do Minotaurs get?
Minotaurs generally keep their normal teeth. However, as many animals with tusks fall under this category, they would be considered an acceptable addition!
Could Minotaur Fog forms be taurs? (four bovine limbs/lower body and the torso up of a human?)
Yes, this would be fine as a Fog form! In their normal state, however, Minotaurs are not allowed to be centaur-like.
When looking toward behavioral/psychological changes, are we allowed to take a few from fauns/satyrs?
While you can draw psychological changes from any myths you want about your monster type, we consider Minotaurs and fauns/satyrs to be distinct from one another, as the general conception of Minotaurs in myth is notably different from what fauns and satyrs are like.
