SLIME

Slimes are amorphous, viscous monsters of Ryslig. With extraordinary physical resilience and the ability to shape their bodies in infinite ways, Slimes make unrelenting predators whose feeding habits are the slick, slimy fuel of nightmares. Slimes do not have to be based on real-world animals, but any gastropods, jellyfish, or sea cucumbers/nudibranchs are acceptable species to draw traits from. Artwork generously donated and submitted by players as an example of this monster in various forms. This can give you an idea of what you can do with this monster. Want to donate? Submit your own. (frozen comment) FAQ
FEEDING:
Tell me more about how a Slime feeds on liquids.
Slimes may do this by engulfing part or all of a human to drain them externally, or may choose to infiltrate the victim's body to drain them from the inside. In either case, the afflicted area of the victim will wither, dehydrate, and possibly turn necrotic, often leaving a dry husk in its wake. A Slime cannot control a body that it enters.
MONSTER ABILITIES:
Tell me more about how a Slime's senses work!
Slimes can adjust the location and intensity of their senses at will, although this may take some practice. For example, a Slime may see out of two eyes as they might as a human, or they may see out of their whole body at once with the drawback that this will compromise their vision.
Can a Slime swim?
This is up to player discretion. If you want your Slime to swim through modulating its own volume and density, that's fine; if you want your Slime to sink uselessly, that's fine; and if you want your Slime to float sadly atop Lake Dala, that's also fine!
Can Slimes have paralyzing toxins?
Slimes cannot truly secrete toxins - this would count as an extra ability. However, Slimes may have a poisonous exterior that inflicts paralysis or nerve pain when ingested.
What happens if you try to poison a Slime?
Slimes have no particular poison immunity advantage over any other monsters! That said, it's up to you what happens to the poison! A Slime may digest or absorb it, have it temporarily spread through them as if going through veins, or have it floating in a blob in them until they expel it.
How strong are Slimes?
Slimes are just as strong as any other monster, being capable of picking up/absorbing things ordinary humans would be unable to--though, the process may be a little slower than an average human.
MONSTER BODIES & CHANGES:
Do Slimes breathe?
Slimes don't breathe, per se, but they are aerobic creatures that require oxygen to survive! This means that Slimes can continue breathing as long as they are exposed to fresh oxygen, and that - if kept somewhere without oxygen, such as underwater or in a sealed container - they would last about a day before dying.
What happens to slime that is disconnected from the Slime's main body?
The lost slime may survive for one or two days before melting into a puddle and eventually evaporating. It will revive if it's reconnected to the main body before it dies.
