VAMPIRE

BASIC INFO Vampires are undead creatures that feast on blood. A few days before the character transforms, they will become aware of two itchy, painful bite marks on their neck and a loss of appetite. While the physical changes are minor, the transformation itself also involves the heart stopping and the body dying. MANDATORY CHANGES ● A state of undeath. One of the Vampire's first changes is that two itchy, painful bite marks appear on their neck and they lose their appetite. A few days after this, their heart stops and the body dies. ● The upper canines and/or upper lateral incisors elongated into fangs. ● Eye color ranging from pale pink to bright red. This color doesn't need to be constant, and might only manifest when a Vampire is hungry, or has recently fed. ● Fingernails that grow faster and in a more claw-like shape. ● Weakness to sunlight. Vampires usually prefer to go out at night time or keep themselves well-covered, as direct exposure to sunlight results in severe and debilitating burns. While they don't need to sleep in coffins, they tend to prefer windowless, enclosed spaces to avoid accidental exposure to sunlight. ● Vulnerability to silver. Silver will burn the skin on contact and can cause severe injury or even death if the Vampire is shot or stabbed with something made of silver. ● Heightened senses. Vampires will find that their senses are attuned to the scent of blood, and when very hungry they may start hearing the pulses of those nearby. ● Thirst for blood. A Vampire's monster hunger is satiated only by blood, and they will actively crave it. ● A strong hunting instinct. When Vampires are hungry, they will develop the urge to chase prey down. Vampires usually hunt by scoping out their target in bat form, then swooping down on them. They will turn back into their typical form at the last second to grab their prey, piercing neck flesh with their fangs to get to the victim's blood. [back to top] OPTIONAL CHANGES ● Any psychological changes are welcome! Feel free to pull from real world myths, canon creatures of this variety, or any other source! ● A fog form. This is an exaggerated version of their monster form that appears only during the fog and is a chance to make your monster more "horrifying" during the fog. ● Travel form: the ability to take the form of a bat. The character will look like a regular bat, and will be able to fly rather fast, but is more vulnerable in this form. ● The ability to take the form of fog. The character will be invulnerable in this form, but will also not be able to feed or cause any damage. ● Anything from pointed ears to large, batlike ones. ● Elongated fingers. ● Paler skin. ● Bright red lips. ● Bat-like features, such as a snout ● A bat-like wing membrane between the arms that allows the Vampires to glide, but also able to bend enough that they can still wear clothing. They also have the option of having bat wings attached to the arms (no back wings)! ● Elongated legs that bend backwards, ending with large clawed bat feet which allows the Vampire to grip branches and climb feet first or hang on surfaces ● Bat-like fur on any part of the body ● Some Vampires can eat and drink normally, while some find that all other food and drink tastes terrible to them. ● Hypnotic influence over humans. Most humans can be immobilized with this influence long enough for the Vampire to feed on them, while weaker-minded humans can be forced to carry out the Vampire's bidding as well. ● Superhuman speed. Certain Vampires can move much faster than humans, appearing as nothing more than a blur. ● An arrogant nature. Vampires tend to believe themselves better than other creatures or humans, and are prone to flattery. [back to top] ALLOWED SPECIES Any type of bat is allowed for Vampires.
