KELPIE
BASIC INFO

Kelpies are shapeshifters than can take the form of a horse-like creature. Unlike werewolves and werebears, they can transform whenever they please. However, they don't keep their regular human appearance even when not fully transformed.

MANDATORY CHANGES

● Thick hair with the texture of seaweed that grows at a faster rate than normal.

● A colored tint to their skin, such as green or orange.

● Pointed ears.

● Fingernails and toenails that are thicker and dark in color.

● A taller stature. Kelpies are anywhere from a few inches to a full foot taller than they were as humans.

● Travel form: The ability to change into a horse. In this form the character will be able to travel faster, and they will keep all their other powers. If touched by a human while in horse form, the human will be unable to let go, enabling the Kelpie to drag them around easily. Kelpies can control how 'sticky' they are, and simply shake the human off when they want to.

● Sharpened senses, especially underwater. The senses of sight and hearing will increase greatly, and will function at nearly-normal levels underwater.

● The ability to breathe underwater.

● Skittishness. The character will find that they are easily startled by sudden noises or movements, and may transition into horse form unwillingly when frightened.

● A need to feed on human energy. The Kelpie accomplishes this by dragging a human underwater until they drown.
OPTIONAL CHANGES

● Any psychological changes are welcome! Feel free to pull from real world myths, canon creatures of this variety, or any other source!

● A fog form. This is an exaggerated version of their monster form that appears only during the fog and is a chance to make your monster more "horrifying" during the fog.

● Sharp, needle-like teeth.

● A seaweed-like mane and tail.

● A sickly thin appearance.

● Longer arms and legs in proportion to the rest of the body in regular form.

● Prehensile, seaweed-like tendrils coming from the back that can be used to entangle humans (in regular form).

● Hooves instead of feet in regular form.

● The ability to take an 'in-between' form. This can be similar to a centaur in appearance, with a human head, arms, and torso attached to a horse body. Alternatively, Kelpies can take on a satyr-like appearance, with horse legs and a humanoid upper body. In this form, the Kelpie will be able to travel faster.

● The ability to drain water from their targets, effectively removing their energy as well as feeding themselves. Kelpies can do this either by giving them a "kiss", or by first making a cut on a part of their victim's body and then leeching the water out. The target will become shriveled up as a result.

● The ability to compel humans to come closer by making eye contact (in any form).


ALLOWED SPECIES

Horses, Ponies, Zebras, Onagers, Donkies, Unicorns (with no lethal tips), Asses, Mules, Camels, Llamas, and Nyala are welcome.
