NYMPH

BASIC INFO Nymphs are plant creatures with a strong connection to nature. They thrive in forests and any other sort of plant-heavy environment. While they may look gentle and beautiful, their nature is closer to a venus fly-trap than a delicate flower and they draw their nutrients primarily from humans. MANDATORY CHANGES ● Skin resembling plant life. This skin must be the color found in the nymph's plant growths, and may have a plant-like texture (bark, flower petals, etc.) ● Plant-like hair which may resemble grass, leaves, vines, flowers, or even branches. The plant-like aspects may either be incorporated into the Nymph's hair, or replace their hair entirely. ● Pointed ears with a leaf-like pattern. ● Green eyes, including the sclera. ● Prehensile, root-like tendrils instead of toes that can be planted into something in order to draw nutrients from it. ● Plant growth on their arms, legs, and torso, which can be anything from leaves to flowers to branches, just like their hair (although it doesn't have to be the same as their hair). ● Connection with nature. Nymphs can easily find their way around a forest, because every tree looks unique to them. Their touch can nurse dying plants back to health and make saplings grow faster. By concentrating on their surroundings, a Nymph can tell if anyone is nearby. ● A weakness to fire. Being near a fire will hurt them and being set on fire will cause serious damage, possibly even death. ● Hunger for human flesh. In order to feed, the Nymph must wrap their prey in their roots, causing it to rapidly decompose and allowing nutrients to be absorbed. If the Nymph goes too long without feeding on humans, they may start to find that their roots have a mind of their own and will start to grow around the next person they are in close enough contact with. [back to top] OPTIONAL CHANGES ● Any psychological changes are welcome! Feel free to pull from real world myths, canon creatures of this variety, or any other source! ● A fog form. This is an exaggerated version of their monster form that appears only during the fog and is a chance to make your monster more "horrifying" during the fog. ● Stealth form: the ability to take the form of a plant at any time. In this form, the character will look like a normal plant and will be able to blend into their surroundings most effectively. However, they will also be more vulnerable and will find it difficult to move around without assistance. ● Spike-like thorns on any part of the body. ● Prehensile, vine-like tendrils growing from their back that are strong enough to grip humans. ● Additional prehensile, root-like tendrils growing from their fingers, which can be planted into something in order to help draw nutrients from it. ● Claws and sharp teeth with a potent venom that can put humans into a deep sleep. ● The ability to take control of nearby plants. ● The ability to secrete a sticky, sap-like substance that sticks to humans like super glue so they can't get away. ● The ability to disguise themselves as a large plant while sleeping. They will revert to their original form if injured, however some plant forms would be capable of self-defense, like a giant venus fly trap for instance. ● Abilities similar to the plant they resemble. These may be defensive and aesthetic in nature. Offensive abilities such as poisonous spores or projectile needles can only be used in Stealth form. ● A stronger connection with one specific tree. The Nymph will be much stronger around one particular tree but will suffer a period of weakness if it is harmed or cut down. They will regain their strength when they find another tree. ● An instinctive disgust for anyone who kills, mangles, or harms plants in any way.
