GOD BOONS

INFORMATION

With the gods at war with each other, they offer tantalizing additional bonuses to their loyal followers -- but these also come with a few strings attached. Will you join a side, or remain neutral in the conflict?

Characters can be recruited in two ways: by the god, or by a god follower. The gods can open their realms to anyone at any time if a character wishes to enter. Followers always have access to their god's respective realms, and can bring in a recruit to swear allegiance.

The gods will not punish a character if they leave their side; that would only solidify their resolve to leave. However, they will remove any boons and bonuses they might have granted them. If the character rejoins, their status with be reset to entry level, and they will need to work their way up in the ranks once more.

HOW TO ALLY WITH A GOD AND RECEIVE BOONS

When a character completes a tier requirement, you can submit the form below to have them receive acknowledgment and rewards. Threads don't have to be finished at the time of submission, but they should be a good way through, and please don't handwave them entirely. You may request as many of the listed tier rewards as you like once you've reached the appropriate tier.

You may notice sections for "Offering Description" and "Reward Description". The table below is just a sample of the boons available and the requirements to get them. You don't have to do or ask for these exact things. You may choose to replace any of the listed deeds or rewards with an appropriate substitute of your own design, and they will be judged on an individual basis.

The gods favor certain traits and actions of their followers. The Fog God, for instance, values strength, freedom, and invoking fear in others. She highly encourages her children to live freely, without the inhibitions of human society. Some examples can include demonstrating the power of monsters to frighten the human populace, killing a rival in revenge, disrupting a serious occasion just for the hell of it, or generally doing things without caring for the consequences.

On the other hand, the Fourth God values cunning, subterfuge, and control. His priorities lie in furthering the technology of the peninsula, introducing progress to the world, and standing up against the Fog God. Some examples of deeds include spreading the secrets of others (especially Fog followers), manipulating monsters and/or humans to work against the Fog, or inventing some new technology.

If a character's request doesn't align enough with these ideals, their god may bestow upon them something more to their liking without warning. This is effectively an IC explanation for a request a character wouldn't make on their own. If you would like to do this, outline your request in the backfire section.

If your character wants to leave a god, you are free to do so without notice or handwave a prayer on the respective god's page. Keep in mind that leaving a god will remove all previously gained boons!

THE FOG GOD
The Fog God, so they say, is a usurper of the Day and Night gods popularly worshipped on the peninsula. It is she who brings in unsuspecting souls from other worlds and warps their bodies into monstrous forms. She is capricious and becomes jealous easily. She enjoys the chaos that currently plagues Ryslig -- both watching and causing it. It would mean the universe to her if her monsters would go out and cause some discord of their own.

Worship and Pray to the Fog

THE FOURTH GOD
The Fourth God is an artificial god created by Dr. Liewen, in an effort to make a being strong enough to combat the Fog. He was imprisoned and isolated by the Fog God, until the actions of her monsters allowed him to be freed. He now possesses a burning hatred for her and her followers, and will stop at nothing to destroy her. He is calculating and distant, and desires control of the peninsula.

Worship and Pray to the Fourth

THE KEY TO DYSTER
Those who side with the Fog God will be provided with a silver key, old and dull fog-silver. It fits in any lock, no matter the style, and opening a door with it will bring them to Dyster. They will be greeted by the people of the town, who are more than happy to see them. Here, they can stay for as long as they want, and partake in the feasting.

This is not the Dyster some arrivals may remember, and people who try to visit it on the peninsula proper will find an empty ghost town. The people in Dyster don't seem quite dead or alive, but they treat any follower of the Fog God like royalty, and they will eagerly accept new followers in their fold. They will provide them with a more than willing human sacrifice if the monster is hungry. It will calm their hunger but not indefinitely.

Those who stay for periods of time in the city may feel an unnatural loyalty to the Fog God and her cause, to the point of worship. Characters can leave by using the key against any door in town, and return to where they had first entered.
THE ARCADE'S KEYCARD
Those who side with the Fourth God will be provided an unusually modern-looking plastic card. There's no writing on the front or the back, but there is a hologram of rainbow hues on a black background that flashes wildly when the card is moved around. Insert the card on the side of a door like a slot, and they will be transported to the Arcade when they open it.

They will arrive in the grand atrium of an enormous mall and entertainment complex, all in glowing neon and glassy linoleum. Technology from various different time periods is available here, up through the early 1990s – matching the day-glo transparent-plastic aesthetic. The TVs and video games, film reels in the giant-screen theater and ballroom-sized-ball-pit balls, cannot be removed from the complex, which rivals Dyster in size, and the only shopfronts with merchandise seem to be the food court, which is free, and run by robots. It's a significant upgrade from the seedy arcade it was, before October 2022 gave the Fourth God a boost. However, the same set of large red curtains can be found, behind which lies a sterile looking room full of seated humans with strange visors who will not respond to any sort of stimuli. There is a large basin towards the back filled with water, and any time a human is killed or fed on a robot will enter and clean the area.

Those who stay for periods of time in the Arcade may feel an unnatural loyalty to the Fourth God and his cause, to the point of camaraderie. Characters can leave by pressing the card against a door and return to where they had first entered.
RESURRECTION

Loyal followers may resurrect in their god’s domain, rather than where their life ended. When they choose to leave, their god will return them to a safe place on the peninsula (at the player's discretion).

To a follower's guests, the environs may seem strange, but no harm shall come to those who awaken here. They're welcome to stay a while to recuperate, but a permanent residency would be frowned upon; eventually, they may find themselves guided out of this realm, returning back to Ryslig somewhere safe - and sometimes just within reach of the person who protected them in the first place.

TIER ONE

Tier one boons are small, and are mainly a way for the gods to give their converts a taste of what they can offer. These rewards are immediately available to anyone who pledges themselves to a god. When initially pledging to a god, it is not necessary to submit a prayer--though, if you would like to handwave a prayer, you are free to do so. Therefore, it is not necessary to include an offering for this tier.

FOG
A minor power appropriate to the Fog God (think fear, strength, destruction)

Smallest rooms in Dyster (a single bed, no window)

Resurrecting inside Dyster after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days)

A small aesthetic body modification tailored towards fear and intimidation (e.g. extra/bigger teeth, red/scarier eyes, claws if your monster doesn’t already have them)

An instinctive knowledge of how many days they have left before the hunger overtakes them
LIEWEN
A minor spell appropriate to the Fourth God (think stealth, control, invasion)

Smallest rooms in the arcade (barely a bed and a radio, you can hear the arcade outside)

Resurrecting inside the arcade after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days)

A small aesthetic cybernetic body modification (e.g. wires, circuit boards, Tron lines)

A death counter plugin on their PC that has a little image of their head with an x00 number of lives lost next to it. If a character were to die more than 99 times, it would simply start over.

TIER TWO

Tier two boons are larger, and are the first true rewards for doing a god's bidding. It represents a character being ready to dedicate themselves to a god's cause. A character might reach tier two by sacrificing a human to their god, successfully converting a neutral character, or performing public deeds in the name of their god. They also must be a follower for at least a month.

FOG
A second power appropriate to the Fog God

A bigger room in Dyster (queen-size bed, windows, storage)

Instant resurrection in Dyster after being killed.

A major body modification (e.g. flightless wings, large horns, extra limbs)

Taking on a new way to feed (flesh, energy, souls). This doesn’t replace your old one, but gives you a second option.
LIEWEN
A second spell appropriate to the Fourth God

A bigger room in the arcade (soundproof, larger, queen-sized bed)

Instant resurrection in the arcade after being killed

A modified fog form. While an alternate form assumed during fog days is available to everyone, a Fourth follower’s fog form may include cybernetic limbs or other changes appropriate to Fourth. This is a result of the Fourth God attempting to remove the Fog’s influence.

Extending the protection of the arcade to a neutral character of the follower’s choosing. That character, upon death, will resurrect in the Arcade after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days). He will never protect a Fog follower.

TIER THREE

You're getting serious. You've got your sleeves firmly rolled up and however much blood you get on your hands in the process, so be it. You've done your action and maybe you balked a little at first, but now that you know what it really takes, you're still all-in.

Tier three rewards are for truly devout followers, and it takes a great act to appease the gods enough to get here. Such acts might include a mass sacrifice of people, the successful conversion of an opposing follower, or killing an opposing follower. (Keep in mind that killing or sacrificing in self-defense, or for their own reasons, does not count - it must be expressly done for their god!)

FOG
A third major power, appropriate to the Fog God

A house in Dyster (the works)

Immortality. Only destroying the brain or the heart can kill a tier three Fog follower.

A new, alternate monster form, subject to mod approval. Some examples would include having a beefed-up fog form (go wild on the horror!), or switching at will to a closely related monster type (e.g. gargoyles into dragons).

Exchanging the cybernetic modification imparted by the Fourth God for an aesthetic monstrous modification of your choice. Please see common monster traits for details about the cybernetic modification.

Increased ferocity and strength and lowered inhibitions while in fog form.

Extending the protection of Dyster to a neutral character of the follower’s choosing. That character, upon death, will resurrect in Dyster after 2-3 days (regardless of fog days). She will never protect a Fourth follower.
LIEWEN
A third major spell, appropriate to the Fourth God

A large room in the arcade (the works)

Instantly resurrect via static in any TV or radio of your choice.

The ability to teleport from one location to another using radios. Monsters only have to touch the radio, and imagine the location where they wish to go. Note that the target location also needs a radio that is turned on.

You can regenerate missing limbs or other body parts while in the arcade, but this will take some time, is painful, and the resulting parts may have a cybernetic look to them.

Removing the biological need for conventional food (not humans), sleep, or even breathing.

Immunity to the memory loss incurred from multiple deaths. This is not a perfect reward, as Fourth is not a true god and has a higher rate of error for difficult abilities. (This is a loophole in case you still want to play out memory loss.)

PRIESTS

You will do anything in service of your god. You are theirs to use as they see fit. You know you're on the right side of history, and you'll do whatever is in your power to make sure your god prospers.

The priests of each god gain unique and powerful abilities. The abilities favored by each god are explained below, but you may request a different power instead if one suits you better. In order to obtain priesthood, a follower must be in tier three, and have been in Ryslig for at least four months. When asking for priesthood, please explain in great detail the lengths to which your character has gone for their god, and the deeds they have done in their name. These will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

Please do not ask in the god prayer boxes for ideas for a Priest offering. Priest offerings must be something you have OOCly devised yourself. You may submit a Priest form with an offering you have already come up with, request the relevant god somehow prompts your character to perform it, and then (if approved) ICly ask in the god prayer box to receive this prompt. However, things your character does entirely on their own initiative will be more highly looked upon by the gods as proof of their devotion and motivation, and are far more likely to qualify as a Priest offering.

FOG
Fog priests are instantly identifiable by their gray capes, made to resemble the Fog God’s long hair. The collar and hem of the cape are frayed, and when the wind blows through them it almost seems like parts of them trail off with it, like the fog itself...but that’s just a trick of the light, right?

When priests speak, their voices have a whisper behind them.

Fog priests may command the fog as they wish, bringing it forth where there is none and manipulating it around them. Gargoyles and trolls shrouded in fog need not fear the sun, and day-blind monsters have perfect vision. A character with a fog form may freely transform in this as well.
LIEWEN
Fourth priests do not have any set outfits, but they are given a unique marking on their hand when accepted by the Fourth. It may be a power symbol, a pattern of wires, or even a symbol from the character’s home world. Whatever it is, it will glow when other Fourth followers are near.

Fourth priests may temporarily stop time in their vicinity, affecting anyone who does not follow the Fourth God. They can also access the rsdos network at will without use of a laptop.

For this I wanted to play with it a little more. If he is focused on someone, eye-contact for 3+ seconds it will result in a flashbulb memory of a traumatic/unpleasant event in their past. It will not be clear but it will be enough to cause uneasiness. The conditions for it on his end are that it will only be triggered after no less than three seconds, the intended target must be within no more than a 5ft radius of himself and have his full attention, and the effect will wear off immediately if either one of them breaks the line of sight. Link: Here, still ongoing, but submitting for power approval freshly done!
Reward Tier: Tier 3
Reward Description: Taking everything! Regarding biological needs, I'd like to remove Marco's need for sleep, with the caveat that even if he can survive without it, it would still be really helpful if he did it when he's exhausted.

As for the spell, I do have something in mind, but since I don't want it to be too overpowered, I would like to leave the specifics to you guys. The basic idea I'm shooting for is a hypnotic speaking voice - kind of an extended version of mer singing. This sort of extreme charisma is something Marco would very much make use of, since he's frustrated by the general reaction to his sermons friendly talks about what the Fourth God can do for you - but like I said, I realise this is something that can easily be abused and I want to play fair, so if you could take the general... theme here and devise something cool and balanced, that'd be perfect!

(Also it would be neat if it worked though recordings on the network, but that's not a requirement at all.)

Backfire: As with his other spells, this one makes him proportionally hungry. Which is to say, quite a bit. Any other random unpleasant surprises are welcome too!

Instantly resurrect via static in any TV or radio of your choice → I would like to blend this with Tier 1/2's "Resurrect in the Arcade in 2-3 days, or instantly", in that when she dies, one of the three resurrection types will trigger as suits the moment. (Sometimes you just want to keep a girl dead for a couple days so you can clear out your backtags.)

Spell Descriptions // follow-ups:
Since I didn't assign spells during Tier 1 & 2 approval, I'm throwing them all down here. Because her main canonic "image theme" is music based, I'm going with sound-based abilities. (Music abilities seem specifically tied to certain monster types, and I'd rather not go that route.)
① - Eavesdropping
Ability to hear what's on the opposite side of a single wall. By placing her ear or her hand(s) against one side of a wall, she'll be able to hear any sound on the other side as though she were inside the adjacent area

② - Sound-throwing
Takes a sound... and puts it somewhere else. Basically it would allow her to "steal" a sound from one place and change its apparent "source" location. Sort of higher-function ventriloquism, she could throw her own voice or footsteps to a different hallway, or redirect which nearby ear heard those whispered sweet nothings. She could for a short time "capture" a sound like this (for instance, silently break a window and then set off the crash of breaking glass on a different floor a couple minutes later), but it would "sound off" within 5-10 minutes if she hadn't set it off herself before then.

③ - Sound mimicry
Ability to duplicate any sound she's heard, minus human/monster voices. Animal calls, musical instruments, nature sounds, television soundtracks, etc — if she's heard it, she can create it. She cannot, however, to impressions or mimics of other people's speaking voices, so she can't pretend to be someone else in conversation. (She could mimic the particular sound of their footsteps or their signature cough, but that's about it.)

Note: as written, the familiar ability looks great, but I would like to personally specify that it doesn't carry over any hidden D&D familiar abilities. (That is, Shun can't cast his magic spells through his familiar, and so on!)

Further, while you are under no means obligated to take this option, if you want Shun to have a "magical bond" to his familiar - feeling each other's pain, or feeling a great pain when the familiar is lost - this can be done at no additional cost! Character Name: Lucius Malfoy
Alignment: Fourth God
Offering Description: Joining the ranks.
Link: Here.
Reward Tier: Tier 1
Reward Description: Since I can't think of good substitutions for them, I'm going to take both the resurrection ability and the death-counter anyway. Lucius won't want them but too bad for him! Details on the others:

SPELL: the ability to gutter any electric light source within his vicinity for a reasonable distance (no bigger than a modest room, or maybe about a third of a city block) creating a bubble of artificial darkness that moves with him if he walks. Sources of light would be shut down completely, something like a computer would keep working but it would stop emitting light. If this can work on non-electric light sources too it'd be rad, but since Fourth God is computer dad I have feeling that'd be outside his aesthetic. He's going to try using his wand to cast this spell at first since that's what's most natural to him, but your call if it's actually required or not.

BODY MOD: his Dark Mark is now outlined in cyan neon light instead of merely being etched into his skin as a brand/scar. There's some cybernetic circuit-board style hatching spreading out from the ends of the Mark onto the surrounding skin on his forearm. At some points it might look a bit like the hatching is obscuring the shape of the Mark...almost as if someone is trying to overwrite a prior claim...

ROOM SUBSTITUTION: instead of a room at the Arcade, he gets a box. A very ordinary looking thing made of dark wood, no bigger than a shoebox. Its surface is scuffed and the hinges are dirty, overall it looks like the kind of thing a kid might pick up at a yard sale to store their baseball cards in. The inside is just plain wood too, no lining or markings of any kind. However once closed the box can't be broken apart or into, it has a hidden lock that's nearly impossible to find and can be opened by no one but Lucius. It can only hold as many items as would be reasonable for its dimensions though.

Character Name: Eponine Thenardier
Alignment: Fog God
Offering Description:An old piece of paper. On the one side is a shopping list. On the other is a sprawled letter, begging the Fog God to have her. It's not much, but she has little and it's taken her a good long while to write out and spell correctly.
Link: Here. Her letter.
Reward Tier: Level 1
Reward Description: A tiny room in Dyster, that looks much like the garrett in Paris: an odd shape and small, a rough wooden floor encrusted with dirt and a picture of Napoleon Bonaparte on the wall. As for the bed, a hard, narrow single mattress on the floor with a few shabby blankets.
Could she also resurrect there after 2-3 days?
Could her eyes also begin to turn red, and glow brightly, even in the dark?
Backfire: She definitely wouldn't want the glowy eyes.

While the thread is underway, and death has yet to occur, this is being sent in to make sure all spells and such are acceptable ahead of time, as chronologically speaking the event has already occurred. (Marco would have died August 14th Which I guess makes him a martyr given what followed for him)

I will comment here when the death actually occurs.

Character Name: Yuuri Wakasa
Alignment: Fog
Offering Description: Rather than rolling over and Taking It, Yuuri not only sets in motion the things that get poor Marco fired, but proceeds to plan and act out his murder with the aid of Yuri & Kurumi, brutally sacrificing him in the name of the Fog God to show just what it really means to be hunted by the Fog. (...but not before letting Kurumi have a few words with him first.)
Link: Revenge is even Sweeter when you plan to perfection.
Reward Tier: Tier 3
Reward Description:
A BETTER House in Dyster
  • A rather nice and spacious cottage. The basement is large and vast (possibly more so than the house!), perfect for storing her prey. There is a small 'guest room' for Ruu as well...which is basically a doll house.

    Major Fog Power
  • '10,000 Spiders' - The ability to dissolve herself and move as multitudes of spiders, making it easy to surround and engulf prey while inflicting incredible fear. She can partially form her upper body from this state, though there may be 'glitches' (such as a spider running from one chunk of her cheek to another). To keep this ability under control, each spider must be within one centimeter of ten others at any time, so the swarm cannot merely scatter entirely. Additionally, those representing the head cannot scatter into the crowd, and must always cluster together in some way. This state of being cannot be held for very long either; a maximum of ten minutes as mere swarms, and just as much time in any half-formed state. (This time stacks; so five minutes in one and five in the other would max out the ten minute limit)

Side note, inflicting fear is not an added ability. It's just the natural side effect of being surrounded by spiders.

    Immortality
  • Her heart or head must be destroyed in order to kill her. While in 'spiders' state, the heart is represented by a larger, brilliant red spider, while head spiders are also more uniquely coloured, to make the combined force of these abilities fair.

As a backfire, if any OTHER spiders get crushed, she loses those parts of her...and until she rests and feeds in Dyster, those parts will not heal up.

    Backfire:
Alternate Monster Form + Neutral Protection Boon
  • Rather than gaining an improved fog form or similar, Yuuri will attempt to ask the Fog God to extend 'permanent' protection to her younger sister. ...Who is a golem state teddy bear. At the moment, it follows her around and obeys simple command, so it isn't exactly a thing that needs Neutral Protection.

If possible, I would like for it to, if it is acceptable, have a sort of 'creepy doll' form of speech, with pre-written phrases that those who aren't Yuuri might hear as nothing but blowing wind occasionally. Things like 'I love you', 'Help', 'I don't like them' and other things that the Fog God could potentially have left in order for Yuuri to continue the good work. Others are free to hear these things as well, to drive that eerie, End The Fourth effect home! Naturally, the statements have nothing to do with actual sentience, and everything to do with open windows for supporting the Fog.

If it isn't too much, the bear being able to present the illusion of being Ruu proper-or even just projecting some weird shadow to match (Ruu, as far as Yuuri deludes herself, is a shade after all)-would be astounding, but considering all that's being asked for I'd be quite fine without all that. Yuuri will always see her sister after all (It'd just be to creep other people out really), and eerie Fog Support Messages are more than enough for me.

In our preliminary review of this request, there were a couple points of concern we would like to address, so as to give you time to make adjustments if needed.

As the proof-providing log is still in progress, we cannot completely verify its tenability just yet. However, at the time of our review, the extant text emphasized greatly that this was a matter of personal revenge (Kurumi targeting and intending to kill Marco for his prior murder of Yuuri, while Yuuri helps), rather than that of God Devotion. While at a lower tier this would be perfectly acceptable as proof, Tier 3 rewards are for "truly devout followers" and acts; we would need to see more emphasis in the log itself on how your character is committing this act for the Fog God. Because the theme of personal revenge is so strong, its connection to her god -- and thus its viability as a Tier 3 promotion -- feels incidental, rather than deliberate, and is not what we're looking for at this tier.

Additionally, while the rest of your listed boons look superb, the backfire as specified would not be possible. In God Boon backfires, these are alterations that the god willingly performs contrary to a character's request, as said god sees fit. However, the nature of this deception isn't her style, and doesn't align with her general goals. We also feel that this sort of modification would make the Fog God implicitly supportive of your character's self-delusion, which could result in conflict later on.

Once your log has reached completion, if you would like to change your offering, or if there are any other edits you would like to make to your request in light of this information, please let us know.

Same as with Yuuri, Loki has yet to finish his thread...chronologically however, as the event already occurred (with Kurumi dying August 16th), I wanted to have the request looked over in case any changes need to be made before an official approval. SHE DEAD

    Character Name: Loki
    Alignment: Fourth God
Offering Description: What started as an arrest became a fervent decision to kill for the sake of 'protecting' both his fellow followers and even the 4th himself, when Loki realizes just what went down in this maze. ...He also left that cool mask around, I guess.
Link: JUST DUDES HAVING FUN, THAT IS ALL IT IS
    Reward Tier: Tier 3
    Reward Description:
    Radio Teleportation
  • Notably, whenever he does this the radio emits a sort of blue smoke.

    Bedroom Upgrade
  • Now a much nicer and larger room, the duel table is still there, of course.

    Major Power
  • 'Rewind' - Derived from his canon power known as 'the Remembrances of Time', Loki is able to draw back time on inanimate objects and regions, restoring them to their former glory, or simply causing say...a severe thunderstorm to replay itself. Only in the case of the later would time continue 'unchanged'; for buildings and similar to enter disrepair again, they need to experience the exact events that brought them there in the first place.

This power, as noted, does not affect living things, and he cannot necessarily determine what point/state in time he is reversing something to unless he's properly familiar with the target. Additionally, it would probably not work on certain plot induced scenarios, such as Vandare's General Hospital (oops).

The greater the scale of what he reverses, the more energy he needs to replenish in the form of food (humans being the most effective, of course). For the sake of reference, I figure an hour long rewind can be done without trouble, but going back more than a year makes him hungrier and Hungrier, with ten years of reconstruction on a house sized structure OR a single year on ten leaving him unable to go further due to the fact that he would be mere moments away from going berserk. (So maybe don't go trying this in Rota, big guy...)

If that's flat out too much though I can think of something else.

    Backfire:
    Cybernetic Limb Regeneration/Memory Loss Immunity
  • Rather than gaining an entirely new ability, these boons come as a backfire/upgrade to his existing sleep healing. The larger an injury is, the greater the chance of cybernetic influence in the healed wound (so if he's lost a limb and it's not there to reattach... ...yep). Additionally, he still keeps the extreme hunger inducing side effect. Likewise, rather than a memory immunity, he has to dream his memories back! Which...being tied to his bear ability, means Hunger. Sucks buddy. (In a sense this is ICly the 4th refreshing his memory I figure.)

    Loss of Biological Needs
  • ....Does not happen! A loss of biological needs and such rings too close to Loki's time as a Zombie see, and the 4th would know how much the kid hated that mess. If he wants to give him something representing that go for it, but Loki's in no need of fancy body mods and spells by this point. Mbby Angel Attack appears in the arcade or something, hah

Upon review of this request and all its components, we have determined that we cannot approve this as presented. The offering provided cannot be used for this character, for reasons we will detail below. Additionally, should a different offering be made, the unique spell requested would not be possible to grant, and would need to be exchanged for a different spell.

At present, all Time- and Time-Alteration based abilities are under the sole purview of the Fourth God himself; devotees of this god can receive a fragment of this power when they reach the Priest Tier of alignment, and no earlier. Additionally, the power described is much, much too powerful both in terms of scope of time rewound as well as in scope of areas affected to be viable in a collaborative roleplay setting.

In regards to the log supplemented as offering, we had a number of concerns. When we previously discussed a circumstance like this with you, you described a scenario where your character would end a fight in service of his god, even if he did not feel "necessarily devoted." At that time we accepted this as a possible avenue. However, in reviewing its execution, we feel that it is not quite as initially described. While your character does get into conflict with a Fog follower and kill her, in part for the threat she bears on his Fourth-aligned companion, this epiphany seems to come from nowhere. Loki declares that "she was torturing fourths," but there is nothing in the log prior to this point to bring him to this conclusion. Furthermore, the defense he provides for his companion seems based more in their mutual friendship rather than with their god alignment — it seems he would have committed this act either way. In short, his motives read more serving of his own ideals than those of his god, and the cause for his "realization" of Kurumi's actions reads tenuous at best.

While this alone raises some concerns for us, more pressing is the circumstance of this log. In it, your character is investigating a crime orchestrated by another of your characters, and he kills the person who helped your other character commit that act. With your characters playing both cause and effect to this scenario, we feel that this request takes unfair advantage of your unique standing as someone playing multiple god-aligned characters. Allowing your characters to influence the actions and opportunities of one another, in this situation, would allow for a quicker advancement within your roster than would be possible for most anyone else in-game. While we do not believe that you have set up this scenario with deliberate intent, we feel the correlation between these two offerings is much too great to fairly allow.

With these circumstances in mind, we unfortunately cannot in good conscience grant this Tier request.

    Character Name: Rohan Kishibe
    Alignment: Fog
Offering Description: Converting a Neutral party.
    Link: here.
    Reward Tier: Tier 2
    Reward Description:
    - Bigger room in Dyster
    - Instant Respawn
    - Secondary Feeding Method - Energy: A tie-in with his Fog Power Thing, Rohan can draw exerted energy from his victims while they are frozen from his gaze. It's less about feeding and more about invigoration. It will satiate hunger in a pinch but not for too long.

    - Body Modification since i skipped this last time - ~Mood Ring Scales~: Rohan's traditional coloring is black and white, but upon reaching this tier, his black bands/spots will shift to REAL COLORS now and then with their coloration and vibrancy depending on the factors of strong emotions, feeding, and fog days.

    - Power Buff - Memory Recall Part 2: Electric Boogaloo: As with his Tier 1 power, eye-contact with him will still trigger a single traumatic memory in his target. The conditions of it have changed slightly at this point, allowing Rohan to see the event himself instead of it just being one-sided. The radius allowance is now 10ft instead of 5ft. The time spent with the target frozen in place will allow him to sap their energy via the secondary feeding method. If the line of sight is broken, the effect will wear off but will leave the target with prolonged anxiety. Effects and severity are still up to the other player's discretion.

    Character Name: Blue
    Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: Didn’t make the killing blow, but had an important role in the killing of a Fog follower.
Link: Here. At least his map spell was put to good use beforehand.
    Reward Tier: Tier 2
    Reward Description:

Basic - Bigger soundproofed room w/queen-sized bed in the arcade, instant revival, protection for a chosen neutral (undetermined, but will be done through the 4th’s prayer box)

Modified Fog - The bone armor and mask left over from the parasite is converted into cybernetic tech, so that he’s like a futuristic knight.

Spell - Weapon Charging. No not a sword beam, but through any weapon he holds (preferably a sword), Blue can generate energy into it so that it shines as a light within darkness and fog. But if he goes overboard with this spell, the weapon will vibrate and whine loud enough to be a useful trick against monsters, at the cost of his own hearing.

Backfire - The sound and vibration generated when overcharging is especially effective against minotaurs, including himself. Blue is a moron, what else is new?

    Character Name: Kira Yoshikage
    Alignment: Fourth God
    Offering Description: Joining
    Link: Look what Marco did.
    Reward Tier: 1st
    Reward Description:
Basic-- 2-3 Day Resurrection, small room in the arcade, death counter. (If the death counter could be kitty faces instead of his own I would be most pleased but that's not something that actually needs to happen. We just have a cat aesthetic going on over here.)

Minor Spell -- Kira's powers back in Morioh involve explosions and erasing. He's also a killer by nature that desires dark places to do that gross thing he does, especially nowadays as he's using his own "skills" to get by.
I thought it would be a neat idea for him to be able to explode/erase electrical light sources. It gives him what he needs to do whatever wholesome things he intends to do in the dark. Just bursting light bulbs is fine. I'm unsure if actually erasing bulbs is too much power. The range is of course not all that great. He's not going to wiping out an entire street or anything like that. Just a dark alley corner or something like that.
I was also hoping he can trigger the spell like he triggers Killer Queen's bombs. The little invisible button press.

Body Modification -- I would like to get Killer Queen's skull in neon pink wiring on the back of his hands. Kind of like This. But I don't know if that's too much wiring because those are detailed little suckers or if it's too much to have them on both hands. If that's a problem the general outline of the cat skull is fine and if two hands is too much then just Kira's right hand works just as fine too.

Backfire: If you want to add issues to the exploding light sources that'd be neat but otherwise, I'll take a pass. Thank you!

    Alignment: Fog
Offering Description: She formally joined the Fog side, and obtained a key!
    Link: Here.
    Reward Tier: Tier 1
    Reward Description:
    - Minor power: survival drive. Amanda would, with permission of other player(s), be able to force others to enter a fight-or-flight mode in which the goal of survival overrides their rational thought process. (Credit goes to mod Kari for coming up with this!)

    - Small room/shack/whatever in Dyster.

    - Resurrecting within Dyster after 2 to 3 days, regardless of fog.

    - Small body mod: an extra set of vocal cords. Using them, Amanda can alter her voice to sound like a very close (but not 100% accurate) approximation of the frightening "Jigsaw" voice used on game recordings in her canon.

    - Instinctive knowledge of how many days she has left before her hunger kicks in.

Backfire: Growing those vocal cords is going to cause some INTENSE temporary throat pain!

    Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: Converted a neutral character!
    Link: Here.
    Reward Tier: Tier 2
    Reward Description:
    - Second spell: sparklescreen! Lorraine can cast something like a "smokescreen" in order to distract and hopefully escape an aggressor...but instead of being made of smoke, it consists of bright, multicolored SPARKLES. They're bright enough to hurt people's eyes, in the same way that looking into a strong flashbulb can.

    - A bigger room in the arcade.

    - Instant resurrection in the arcade.

    - Modified fog form: hi-tech tendrils. Lorraine's tendrils in her fog form are replaced by woven bundles of fiber-optic cables, which can light up in the same colors as her sea glass accents!

    - Extending the protection of the arcade to a neutral character of her choosing.

Backfire: When she gestures with her hand(s) in too animated a fashion during normal conversation, she can accidentally cast a small amount of sparkles and hurt her own eyes.

    Character Name: Reira Akaba
    Alignment: Fourth
Offering Description: None; this is a Monster Change switch over.
    Link: N/A
Reward Tier: N/A (Covers Adept, Tier 1, and Tier 2)
Reward Description: The following spells change over due to monster associations:

  • ADEPT - Switching from Wendigo to Kelpie, Reira goes from the ability to create zombie minions from midnight to dawn, to the ability to walk on water. When this power was listed as an obtainable boon, no drawbacks outside of extreme hunger were listed as I can recall, so I have taken the care to assume a 2 hour time limit before the hunger becomes too much to allow focus on the spell. 15 minutes would likely be the 'safe' range where Reira is hungry, but not dangerously so.

Naturally since Reira only claimed one of his two adept spells in the first place, it's only fair that he not get the other spell Kelpies had. No Ninja Jesus tricks here, nope.

  • TIER 1 - Rather than vocal mimicry (which is something better associated with wendigo in media), Reira's spell becomes a twist on it and 'hidden conversation' type abilities. Rather than hiding what he is saying, he is able to make those around him hear a different sound entirely-provided there is a sound in his immediate radius to replace it with. If there is not, then natural sounds such as nearby birds fill the void, or mere static.

As a consequence of this ability, it loses effect as more people need to be distracted from what he is actually saying; as a result, the words he is speaking and hearing begin to distort with static, rendering his 'hidden conversation' a more pointless endeavor.

For the person he is speaking to to be hidden from other ears, they must be within five feet of Reira. For the people around them to cease hearing them and instead hear someone else, both they and the target sound source must be within twenty feet.

  • TIER 2 - This change is similar to his spell as a Wendigo, Reira becomes a slime white jelly and foam mix instead of wind here, due to the jelly being something kelpie have taken the form of (albeit in death); it cannot easily be used for transportation, but he can in fact move about in this state if he chooses, something made easier if he was already moving before taking form. It is better used as a quick dodge however, most particularly due to its backfire; Reira becomes starved of energy after using it, and must not only feed again in order to use it twice, but he must feed within the next 24 hours at maximum...as using this spell brings him so close to starvation that he risks entering a berserk state. His time limit over all for holding this form is 5 minutes.

The following Body Modifications have changed over as follows:

  • TIER 1 - The cables and lights that followed his Mountain Runes have shifted to match the way the runes sit as a Kelpie; now that those runes crackle over his tendrils and form eye spots on his wings, he bears a number of fiber optic effects both where the runes can be found, and in the seaweed of his hair. The lights of them seem to shine differently according to his mood.

  • TIER 2 - Reira's Fog Form, being different, is affected differently as well; while there is a similar theme of metal and gears, his tendrils seem supported by glowing tesla coils, and a pole seems to spear through him in a manner not unlike a twisted carousel creature.

Backfire: None! Unless we aren't allowed to switch adept spells over, in which case I guess losing the adept spell is a backfire haha.

Since this is just a trade over, I'm assuming the 4th isn't going to be leaving any fancy messages though; I imagine the abilities would just manifest with the change.

We're sorry for the delay! We'd like to clarify Reira's T1 spell before we approve this as a set.

Reira can have the ability to replace sounds as long as another sound is nearby to replace it with. He can't replace it with silence. Additionally, his ability works best when targeting five or fewer people; trying to replace a sound for more than five people at once will cause a static effect while the sounds oscillate between the conversation and the replacement sound. The existing radii (five feet for conversation partner, twenty for replacement sound) are fine with us.

If these conditions work for you, your abilities are approved!

    Character Name: IV
    Alignment: Fog
    Offering Description: Killed Elizabeth
    Link: Here.
    Reward Tier: Three (Two, One)
    Reward Description:
A third major power, appropriate to the Fog God
As he never claimed his prior rewards for Tier Two and One I will also do them now.

    Tier One: Corrosive Blood

As it sounds, makes his blood corrosive when it's bled out, so it could be used hypothetically to bleed on an old rusty lock and break it, or at the very least discourage people from getting into close combat with him. Comes with drawbacks: blood loss, and he's a vampire without a lot of bloodflow to begin with so it is limited. Themeing works with being a Vampire, and should be suitable for the fog god by virtue of being a fairly straight-forward and destructive power.

    Tier Two: Miscellaneous Mass Control

Standard vampire bullshit of being able to stand upside down on the ceiling, or walk up a wall. Decrease gravitational pull so he can step off a building and land "softly" though there's still no glide or flight ability. IV lacks wings, so I figure I might as well give him this.

    Tier Three: Doll Maker

Mad surgeon ability, more or less. Think Frankenstein. This would allow IV to make himself "dolls" out of corpses, or do his "doll-making" work on someone, like attaching them an arm back after amputation. However, this would require IV to a) be using actual corpse pieces or b) doll parts because it's his canonical #aesthetic and why the hell not. He can control his corpse dolls, he cannot control for instance, someone gets their arm chopped off, he puts a new arm on, he cannot control that arm now, it's the receiver's arm. Dolls created this way do not have wills of their own, and are typically not very sturdy since they are a bunch of wooden limbs and zombie parts. I'm not quite sure if this does properly fall into the domain of something the Fog God can grant since I'm aware the Fourth has done the zombie thing before, but since the Fog God does deal with making things more monstrous, I was wondering if a Frankenstein type gimmick might work here.

    - A house in Dyster (the works)

    - Extending the protection of Dyster to Kamishiro Ryouga, so upon death he will revive in Dyster.

    Character Name: Loki
    Alignment: Fourth
    Offering Description: Obelisk Mission Complete!
Link: I mean he only let you use and fry his body dude, nbd.
    Reward Tier: Tier 3
    Reward Description:

  • A Large Room in the Arcade - The duel table is in his new room, naturally. Presumably the mask he nicked from Audrey and ended up putting on display too. Bonus points if the bed somehow reflects that he prefers sleeping like a weird little red panda in a tree hollow/drawer though.

  • A Major Spell; 'In the Cards' - A spell subject to mod limitations I feel, but essentially the gist is as follows: Using his Major Arcana Tarot cards, Loki is able to heal the injuries of another monster or person, with the limitations being defined by what's available in the environment, and what he can 'specify' when setting his cards in play upon a relatively flat surface.

One Example: Using Time, the Sun, Chaos (As in 'Nothing'), and the 'Devil' card, a Night Monster's burns as created by Sun Weakness are restored.

Another Example: Using 'Contract', 'The Lovers', 'The Fool', and the 'Angel' card, a blood transfusion of sorts can be made between Loki himself (the figure represented by The Fool), and a Day Monster.

Yet Another Example: Using the Golem (that diamond one), the Eye of Darkness, the Eyes of the World, and Strength, a poison wound is healed. This represents where the real power of the cards comes in; if Loki can justifiy the meaning, it heals. (In this case Eye of Darkness -> Evil Eye -> Poison, with the Golem representing fluid change and Strength being the power that fuels it. The Eyes of the World are the conversion from 'bad' blood to 'good'.)

TL;DR Loki heals people using his cards, and certain limitations should apply...I'm just not 100% sure what those limitations would be, other than the likely limit of 4 cards per 'spell' (hah, 4).

  • Removal of Biological Needs; SUBSTITUTION REQUEST - As Loki would greatly detest such a reminder of his time as a 4th Wall Zombie, and the 4th would be aware of this fact, I would like for Loki to (if possible) receive some other boon/object/whatever in the place of this. It can be exceedingly minor if need be to balance the request; it just feels as if there would be 'something' in its place if the 4th was keeping the above in mind.

  • Radio Teleportation - He tends to leave blue dust/static when he enters and exits the radios/televisions that he uses.

  • Regeneration + Relative Immunity to Memory Loss - See Backfire

    Backfire:

  • Memory Loss Immunity manifests as 'dreaming back' lost memories in the Arcade; this does not apply to memories lost before obtaining this boon, representing the fact that the 4th wasn't able to 'catch' those ones (unlike now).

  • Regeneration manifests as an extension of Loki's healing sleep, though if necessary, is still a skill limited to the presence within the arcade. The first manifestation of this is within the lightning scars received during the quest; rather than healing, they seem to glow with electricity.

We apologize for the wait. We have a few things we'd like to address about this boon set, so here are some headers.

    Tarot Healing
We'd like a lot of clarification about this power. Firstly, it is hard for us to follow your examples, given that Loki's deck doesn't match real world Major Arcana, so we're not certain what each card represents and how it ties in to the application of his powers. We would like to know more about the Arcana Loki is working with.

Secondly, we need to know what kind of healing and the extent of it that Loki can perform. The given examples of physical wounds and poison are good examples, but were there other injuries you intended to use this power for? Will Loki be able to heal mental afflictions? What about illness (not caused by poison)? How powerful is the healing? Can older injuries be healed, or is there a timeframe after which the power won't work? When you say "with the limitations being defined by what's available in the environment", what does this mean in practice? Knowing the entire scope you intend for this ability will help us to work with you on placing acceptable limitations. Please be as detailed as possible.

    Biological Needs
If you don't wish to take this boon, you don't have to. If you have an idea for a different boon not listed in the suggestions, you may submit it for approval. As individual boons are non-mandatory additions to each tier, the mod team will not craft unique line-item substitutions for individual players. However, we would be glad to answer questions you may have about specific substitution possibilities.

    Regeneration
We don't understand what this backfire means. A werebear's healing covers physical injuries, while arcade regeneration specifically covers missing limbs and other (missing) body parts. Replacing regeneration with electricity would, for this boon, imply that if Loki were to lose an arm, it would instead be replaced with electricity in the shape of an arm, but without any functional use. Could you please clarify?

Additionally, this power cannot work outside the arcade, even if attached to Loki's werebear regeneration.

Link: two nerds destroy a beloved monument
    Reward Tier: Priest
Reward Description: Taking the suggested time-stop spell and the Brain Computer (I tried to think of a cooler replacement for stopping time and straight-up couldn't). As for the marking, he'll be getting a ring of circuitry (something like this) on his left ring finger. Y'know. Subtle. Until it starts glowing.

Not long after the Obelisk's collapse, both Fiddleford and Marco will feel a tug toward the Arcade. When either of them steps inside, they'll find themselves in what seems to be the main area of the Arcade - except dark and empty, with only the nearest screens lit up with static. If they don't arrive together, the missing person will find the compulsion to check on the Arcade exponentially stronger until they come. And if only one of them's there the place will play glitchy hold music until the other arrives. On Repeat.

As soon as both of them are there, they'll feel a faint chilling sting on their ring fingers, leaving them with their new markings. The screens near them will display:

youve both done so much good for everyone!
and youve helped me so much too!!!!
i know priests aren't supposed to get married
but i thought maybe it would be okay if it was to each other
that way we can all be together forever : )

However they respond to this, the screens will flicker off, then return with a new message:

i want to show you something important
    follow me
    :)

After about a minute, these screens will dim, and ones further along will brighten and wait patiently for the two of them to head over. Arcade machines and ceiling lights will keep brightening and falling dark to lead their way until they reach the old prize counter, an open door, and an unguarded pair of stairs. Wires trail down the walls as they descend, more and more tangled and plentiful the deeper Marco and Fiddleford go. The walls are oppressive and close, and unless they move very carefully, their footsteps will echo endlessly. Finally, they'll pass an open doorframe into a room overflowing with electronics - screens all over the walls, some flickering with static and others with what may or may not be visions of the world outside. Hundreds of radios hiss in a discordant mess, the sound echoing in the great wide room. Wires drape over everything, cables line the walls in circuitboard patterns and bracketing the door - all reaching towards a center. Free electricity jumps between open cables; Marco and Fiddleford should watch their step.

In the great center of it all, a young boy's body lies motionless. All the cables have made their way towards him, wrapping around his limbs carefully and holding him as if cradled. He’s a pale child, with fine hair that is near white, and unblinking pale eyes. Though his eyes are open, the body of the boy hangs limp- hooked into everything, the center of a great mass of cords and cables. He doesn't even seem to be breathing. The body looks... abandoned.

The radios fall silent, suddenly, then crackle back to life in a child's voice, light and pleased, no hint of static, as if he’s right there beside them.

"See? This room is where I really am! Do you like it? I wanted to show you both. Because... I trust you, very very much.”

He pauses, and every screen in the room goes black.

"But that's not the important part."

One by one, they light up again: scenes of forests, rivers, mountains, cities, deserts and tundras... none of them, however, are familiar. They're not places on the peninsula.

“This all used to be real. All of it. Skämd used to be a lot bigger! There was a whole world out there. But it’s gone now. The Fog God didn't like it. So she ate everything, and now we're all stuck here. Everybody. All because of her. It’s not just us. Not even just our friends. She wants to take everything.”

The screens slowly shut down again, leaving a single one with a ": (" displayed in the network's colors. “We need to destroy her and then we can get rid of the bad parts. All of them. Then she'll never hurt us again. She’ll never hurt anyone ever again.” There's a short pause, and he adds, sounding gleeful, “And because you guys have done so much, I can help you better now. I’m better now. Better than I used to be. And it’s all cause of my friends. Friends like you. I’ll make sure you can always call for help when you need it. And if the bad guys get too rough, you can just hit pause and walk away!"

The room will go dark, all the screens dying suddenly until only the smaller lights and snaps of electricity remain around the body of the god. If they're looking closely, it'll almost seem as if the body, with its wide empty eyes, is smiling.

Then, darting from the god along the cables of the floor and the walls, a burst of electricity will erupt and catch both Fiddleford and Marco. They both will feel a sudden burst of power, like that electricity is flowing through their veins, and as it grows and charges they’ll hear the laugh of a child before they both black out.

When they wake up, they'll find themselves carefully supported by a bed of wires, similar to the one that supports the god. They'll each have their new abilities when they wake.
The screens will have arrows directing them how to get back out, and a message.

stay as long as you need to
you know what i need you to do
    :)

Nothing will interact with them on the way out, from the screens to the radios, and once they leave the room, the hall will disappear, though there is a card reader in the wall where the door was.

Their cards now have a special bar of neon code alongside the first. If they so choose, they - and they alone - can return to the room, if they ever wish.

    Character Name: Madoka Kaname
    Alignment: Fog
Offering Description: Retrieving all the pieces she could find of the Fog God's monument, dragging them to the empty Dyster, and proceeding to ritually sacrifice herself in an attempt to give them power again. (This is in addition to being the Fog God's earliest follower in Ryslig, and - more recently - being open with anyone about her, and trying to set a good example for others as a kind follower of the Fog.)
Link: Here. Warnings for a LOT of gore/bad things.
    Reward Tier: Priest
Reward Description: First of all, I need that goddamn cape. In fact, everything under the fog priest section sounds great. I have one big question: given the nature of her offering, would it be possible and/or what would I have to trade away to give Madoka the obelisk's power - to remember the names of anyone who's been dropped? (She wouldn't get faces or any other information - just a mobile obelisk, so that she could help keep the new monument updated!)
Backfire (for abilities characters wouldn't ask for ICly): Not necessary!
